1. Why should I? -BB

2. Not letting them merge? We don’t have that power.

All we can do is follow the process and that will probably mean going right up to a strike. If we want a contract done faster, IMO, a merge is the best way to do that.

How’s about a contract done properly.

We can have a contract next week. It’ll just be concessionary after agreeing to everything BB wants.

it might be possible to get something done with just a few open sections. Rates, maybe rig and one or two other items. That way nothing is really open to concessions. Then if the merge doesn’t happen for whatever reason right back into full sec 6. Nk and jb just did this and now both are back in full sec 6. Niether was in mediation so I’m not sure that’s possible? Or even if that would be a good idea in mediation?

I suppose anything is possible but an NC that brought us a contract (or an MEC that approved it) without a significant signing bonus would be up for immediate recall IMO.

I keep hearing merger talk but as far as we know F9 and NK are in a game of chicken where nobody will flinch and the ship finally sails. I imagine F9 just occasionally sends a message "is this available" and then ghosts NK when they reply.

I agree on both your posts.

not sure if this is a good analogy.

According to what happened last week, it sounds like NK’s pimp (debt holders) got in the way

they wanted more money from F9 before taking NK home to have their way with her.

Use whatever analogy suits you. Using your alaogy: at some point the pimp is going to sober up and realize he's with an ugly chick. There is just no telling if it's before the bar closes or the next morning in her apartment.

The point is the same, until we hear otherwise there is no merger.

i don’t think a pimp cares if he, the John, or the pro. is ugly. He only cares that his pro. gets paid, how much is paid, and how much his cut will be.

But yeah. No kidding. It’s not final until you’re past V1. That’s true for anything in aviation.

Ha. We don’t even know what BB wants because company hasn't put forth an economic proposal. It’s been a year and we still don’t have a complete picture of what the company wants.

The result should be the same either way. IMO it will just happen faster with a merger.
