it will be stretched out as long as possible, at the end a turd with sprinkles will be louaded as fantastic, at it will pass with an overwhelming majority. There will be a very few of us (again) that vote no........ I'll just vote no now
just like last time...

Bro, I was here too and remember us caving. But THAT LINE mentioned is powerful. I've been advocating striking ever since the last contract. I think it is what is needed on this one. It's the ONE action that could possibly negate all of the other things mentioned in the comment. If the newbies read this and think "oh wow, they tried to strike last time and couldn't" then they aren't getting correct info.

I’m not against you, I just don’t think one line out of the things that were said was an appropriate response. I’ll stand in unity to strike. I’m over the getting bent over and shown this is all we can get so you better take it. It’s complete garbage. Either they change with the times or they don’t but I’ll tell you right now this is starting to look more and more like my regional. The worst part was my regional had a better contract and it wasn’t a wholly owned regional. Better protections amongst other things. Yeah this is better then a regional in numerous ways as a whole but when you fly the same exact metal and get treated like a lower class product when we all went through the same exact BS to be here like the other guys in the same seats to do the same D*** job at the legacies it gets old. I would argue we do even more than the legacy guys as far as the operation goes. Not to mention all my buddies who sit at those so called legacies that say they actually get treated like adults with dignity and respect and how I should make the jump. With all that said every single one of these companies have problems or issues the pilots don’t like about the operation. I’m fully aware of that. I just wish things would go differently this round grow some stones and send the piece of sh!t back if it’s not what we want. We are the only people to blame when a substandard contract is put in place. I don’t think anyone at the legacies wanted to endure the years and years of crap but they knew their worth and fought for that. That is what we need this time.

sounds like you didn’t realize we were fairly close (30 days) to that happening.

We petitioned to be released from mediation. 30 days after release a strike is an available option. Not a word from nmb one way or another for months. So yeah we tried to strike assuming the 30 day cooling off wasn’t enough pressure on management.

I'm a bit surprised that you don’t remember waiting for release?

There may have been a formal request just prior or just after the 20 plus page formal release request but I’m sure it was turned down on the spot by alpa. ALPA provided the release from mediation request to the entire pilot group the day it was submitted. We then waited for several months for at least a statement or decision that never came.
I'm a bit surprised that you don’t remember waiting for release?

Bottom line - if striking isn't a realistic option, then we're in a far worse situation than I thought and we'll never see industry standard rates. What's the incentive for Indigo to pay that?

I think I have bad info wrt the whole process. I was under the impression that in order to get released, you requested it and prior to being granted, the arbitration question was necessary. Either party could turn down arbitration but I hadn't heard that had occurred. I do remember our NC mentioning that negotiations were "ongoing" - not sure what that really means as it could be something as benign as a meeting being scheduled in some distant future.

It’s not the same nmb and it’s not 2018. You need to stop making these leaps to conclusions based on 4 years ago. Completely different environment. You’ll drive yourself nuts. I believe we have a substantially better chance of being released this round which will provide a ton of leverage but I can’t guarantee that. Nobody can. If you end up stuck or stay you will be at higher payrate in a month of which some will be captured with retro.
But, EVERYTHING goes off of history so these aren't leaps - in fact, if we request it again this time around it'll be history that the company will mention as reasoning for not allowing it.
Either way, I hope you're right. If we off all pilots groups can't strike, no one can.
