LOL! This isn't going to age well for you two.
You fail to see the handwriting on the wall.
The legacies are killing off ULCCs with their Basic Economy pricing. And the public now realizes that they don't have to fly a redeye to get similar basic economy pricing.
There won't be a new contract any time soon.
Now you're facing aircraft groundings.
You could ask your old buddies who left F9 for the legacies their opinion, but it'd be admitting that you're wrong to stay there. And you can't be wrong, right? Just grind it out with a management that doesn't care about the operation at substandard pay and working conditions. Brilliant!
F9 is now a quick steppingstone to the legacies. That's it. Not a career destination. Enjoy.

As usual looking at the bright side…if Legacies do kill the ULCC market and we aren’t being absorbed into Allegiant per your suggestion than I look forward to who will it be?! Large order book, pilots and planes sure helped NK get scooped up quick. B6/NK or HA/AK ménage a trois sounds like a fun time.
As always, thank you for your input.

Just wander through the threads here. F9's only marginally better than NK as far as work environment.
But if it makes you feel any better: F9's management is the best. They have their employees best interests at heart. F9 is the best airline to work for. Ever.
...(Said no one.)
You don't need one.
You don't need a college degree anymore.
You can even have a pink slip or two in your background.
Update your resume and get a bit of interview prep.
Even if you're a 60YO bidding single digits, you will do better at a legacy.
You must not have read my post. I admitted I could be wrong. Twice. Did you have any updated engine info I missed or are you still just going with APC Nostradamus? For the record I also believe some bad engine news is coming based on hiring trends but tough to say how bad.

As far as 'your' order book, it's not F9's. It's Indigo Partners' order book. Including the planes that currently have animals on the tail. Repaint them purple and send them to Hungary. It won't be the first time such a thing has happened. If Indigo isn't making money in the US, they'll just shift assets and sell off what they can. Perhaps keep a small operation in the US in order to keep the certificate and wait for another opportunity in the US. But the ULCC model is rapidly dying.

No a chip; just an unvarnished assessment.

I read your post. It was dripping with sarcasm.

Tough questions - yes. But history has shown that neither BB nor Indigo are interested in long term airline operations (say even 20 years). So, the most likely scenario is the start of another ULCC like airline as F9 slowly dissolves. The dissolution could be in the form of being purchased/merged (not a bad option for the pilot force) or just an outright ceasing of operations (kinda like XJT). Either way, does ANY one realistically ever see this airline flourishing to the point of equal pay and customer service?
Right now, UA is offering an out to just about everyone (that is EVERY SINGLE PILOT ON THE SL) that could be a pay raise. In particular, Denver pilots could be CAs (again if applicable) and making upwards of $100/hr more and still being based in Denver (albeit a decrease in QoL). The outs at AA and DL bases are there as well, perhaps just not as lucrative $ wise but do exist.
The real question we've all been arguing has always been - how much does QoL cost to each of us? The differences are certainly in the tens and possibly a hundred thousand per year area...

Just the latest in the P&W saga. Really really rough math looks like NK is getting about 350k per month per airplane down. Im guessing 10 or less of our aircraft could be affected based on the ‘15-2021 scope of problems. Maybe none since we didn’t get our first until second half of ‘22. I have no idea the lead time from an engine being built to it being placed on an airframe.

Welp, I was wrong. A new AD. We have 24 aircraft with engines in group 2. 603-633 have the PW1133GA engines. 634 and on have PW1133G1 which as far as I can tell isn’t included in an AD yet. Lots going on in that article and tough to keep it all straight.

Some people thought we might defer orders. We won't defer anything. They're just going to be sitting on the ground.
