It just seems odd (like other stuff at F9), offering COLAs with all the hiring and much ballyhooed upgrades......but if I've learned anything in two years here, it's that hiring and upgrade projections are often double of what's achieved. I guess it's all music for the masses.........whatever keeps the pilots at bay......

The one thing we will absolutely not do is furlough. The hiring will continue. Why might I make such a bold prediction? Because unless our new aircraft orders disappear, we need pilots. J.N himself knows the deal. If you get behind on pilot training, it will take a very long time to get caught up. Indigo loses money if we can't staff planes. Indigo dislikes losing money. If J.N has the indigo bean counters convinced of 1 thing, its to not get behind on the pilot training.
Or I'm completely wrong and it's hire like crazy till the day you furlough, just like the legacies.

Offering a cola is not a big deal. They will occasionally send one out for a month or whatever the system litigates. There are plenty of pilots that will jump on it. Some pilots have Doctors for a spouse, heck yeah they'll take a month off! It's just a handful of spots. Operationally they see a opportunity to alleviate a few salaries for a short time. They are all about the money, big or small. The hiring will continue strong.

I am still thrown by the very notion of F9 offering even a meager number of leaves with full bore recruiting/hiring going on......makes you really wonder.....guess that old "measure it with a micrometer, mark it with a crayon, and cut it with an axe" fits here with regards to unrealistic (best case), grotesquely wrong (eh), or flat out deceptive growth projections is concerned. Imho, of course.......
