I'm an optimistic guy, but I'm also a realist. I believe that Indigo doesn't have any clue how angry our pilot group is and that's a huge miscalculation on their part. The anger and frustration among our pilots is what's ultimately going to deliver us a contract we all deserve and have earned (some more than others!!). We are going to have to fight for every penny and that's going to take a long time. Indigo makes everyone fight for every penny, as they should, it's their job even though its not right but that's reality.

Don't fall into that trap of high expectations followed by disappointing emails from our NC. This is a slow process. And for god sakes, don't come to work with a nasty attitude and take it out on your fellow coworkers! We will get there but it's going to be a long fight.

So the new mediation schedule is now double its previous frequency. Two groups of sessions per month, I think each group consists of 3 days but don't quote me on the length.

We opened a year early, this March marks the amendable date of the contract. Separately there is an arbitration scheduled for mid April over grievance concerning LOA67 language requiring the company to negotiate upward pay adjustments, that negotiation supposed to start at the same (or approximate) date as our early section 6 opener in March '16, but the company claimed "challenging business conditions" and denied upward pay adjustments; subsequently the grievance was filed thereafter (in June '16 I think).

Overall the negotiations with the company have gone awful but it has played directly into our hands in terms of advancing our goals via the RLA process. I must say that our ALPA team has out maneuvered the company in this respect so far. The company has put the ball in our court. We are essentially down to purely economic items on the contract and the schedule as been doubled; so as odd as the past year has been we're actually in a very good position.

That's the rough summary, I may be off a month on a date or two.
Thanks for the great update. Over at Blue we started negotiations March 2015, and are now down to the last big items like pay, scope, duration, etc. No mediation yet and a good number of negotiating days on the schedule. Good luck to everyone.

Amen^^^^^
Indigo could CARE LESS about the pilot groups anger level.
It's all about $$$$$
The will not willingly give up a nickel.
It will take a threat of striking or a strike to gain ANYTHING.
Show up on time, fly safely, follow the CBA, grieve ANY AND EVERY CBA violation.
It will take time...

Harvey makes a lot of good points. We can still be professionals while following our contract. We are acting professionally when we keep our passengers and crew safe and comfortable.

Why do we have pilots working job fairs and conducting interviews in their free time? I've heard some even travel and stay in hotels on their own dime to do this. Insane!
I don't know this for a fact, but many of the interviewers are supposedly getting trips covered and/or four hours of flight pay for each interview session. The job fairs? No idea - lots of cocktails perhaps?

Holy snikies it's the second coming of Matt Foley!!! Have you ever considered a career in motivational speaking? You should because it doesn't matter what happens in negotiations when the company has us all LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!!

And now you have me asking myself, HOW CAN WE GET BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK?!!

I'm no Bill Shakespeare but I sense some pain behind your words. Do fish ClearCreek? You need a fishing trip, amigo.

You are a very brain damaged individual. I don't care if you are just stupid, or a troll...you are most certainly damaged goods. "Blank" off.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news to some of you guys. But there are a lot us (more all the time) that feel very similar to ClearCreek.

Explain the ideology, please. I'm not getting it. He already advocated illegal work action, as well as some sort of "new-age" path to a contract that he didn't care to elaborate on. So, basically, he's advocating accomplishing nothing, while damaging our bargaining position with the NMB...sounds like a winner to me.
