He can’t and won’t.
Nope. It is a known emb issue and it is not the cap. Emb engineers stated that the baffles and float needed to be replaced on the next checks and the leak was far enough out that it would not cause an issue with the engines.

I will add that it looks like a large amount of fuel, but it’s not enough to notice on the gauges.

Is there guidance in your FOM that allows a departure with a certain amount of frost on the top of the wings?
No only no, but heck no. There have been known issues (like fatal crashes), with CL-65 class airplanes taking off with frost. Anyone who does so is an idiot and deserves whatever punishment they get. I don’t care what airline.

That’s Russia. I’ve flown with Russian pilots on Russian aircraft. They do things... “differently”. There’s a reason their domestic accident rate sucks.
And that’s the thing with icing. What you can get away with today kills you tomorrow.

So they MEL the fuel leak correct?

So how many of you would unbuckle and run forward with a locked cockpit door and a FA who doesn’t know you’re a pilot.
Lemme know how that works out for you.

Sorry, but I won't throw the crew under the bus. I flew the CRJs at a previous company, Ice/frost ON TOP of the wing was never permitted. But, I'm also not a holder of a GoJet Flight Ops Manual. Without knowing the EXACT rules a company operates under, it would not be prudent for me to *ring* the FA call button and express my concern. Had this happened at my current company, I would not have hesitated to alert the crew and save the Pilots' certificates.

But, GoJet does GoJet things. I didn't have a clue what their policy is regarding ice. So I kept my mouth shut, trusted the PIC's judgement and saved my concern for this anonymous forum.

Thanks for the replies. In future winter seasons if I witness a GoJet crew skip the deice pad with ice/frost on the top of the wing I will raise my concerns immediately with the crew to the point of leaving my seat and knocking on the flight deck door during taxi.
