Yes there is a grocery store and a home depot. You'll have to walk past the homeless encampment to get there which is always a toss up whether you will get harassed or not. Also, don't count on the restaurants being anything worthwhile. The TGI Fridays in the Crowne Plaza may be the worst chain restaurant ever. Oh yeah, no hoodies, sunglasses, or hats allowed in the lobby of the hotel. And they don't have any cash on premises. Enjoy!

Literally none of this is true. Except the part about Fridays, but it is now an Irish pub that has been closed since covid started. There is no "homeless encampment". Bellacinos has awesome food, its right next to the grocery store. Hotel is OK, you get a mini fridge and microwave. There is a crew lounge, free water bottles and chips. Grocery store 5 min walk, 10 or so restaurants within a 10 min walk of hotel. In last 6 years of going there hundreds of times for training, overnights, etc... never been "harassed" by anyone, ever.

The Crowne also has an active security detail that makes sure no one is smoking in the halls, fighting, dealing, etc., because that's something every hotel obviously needs.

For the time spent in St Louis for training is it worth having your car or is the hotel in walking distance to restaurants, groceries etc?

If you can bring your car, that would be great, however, as soon as basic indoc is over, you will be shipped off to PHX for systems class for at least 3 weeks, possibly even longer if you do your sims there. Like everyone else said, here in STL, you can walk to a grocery store and a couple restaurants, it’s safe in the daytime. I just literally walked back from the Schnucks 10 minutes ago. No homeless encampments lol. PHX on the other hand, is a much nicer hotel, but it’s in a pretty depressed area of town, and I Ubered around quite a lot. The closest grocery store is about 1.5 miles away. I would have rather had my car there than STL.

It's said that systems and sims will be at FSI in either PHX or STL but the only listing for FSI in AZ is in Tucson?

I think it’s at CAE in PHX. The old US Airways training center.

These are the signs posted on the doors. If there isn't a homeless camp set up under the trees on the way to home depot, the city/county must have cleaned it out. There certainly was one a couple years ago. My information is a bit dated so I apologize, but I still say it's a crappy area.

Is that correct? Looks like there are no provisions for kitchen amenities in the rooms.
