congrats on the CJO. They called me today. Though it’s a good deal for many, as a 20 year ExpressJet guy, I’m not sure if I’m willing to work for the pay outlined in their longevity match (up to 10 years) . For me it’s a $22+/hour cut. Anyways, questions.
1. When was your interview? May interview and September class date? That buys me time.
The interview is virtual correct?
You got a CJO right after the interview?

again, congratulations.

I virtually interviewed at the end of April with a CJO after the interview. My availability was not until the end of August, which drove the September class date.

You are mistaken if you believe that section 6 requires GoJet or any other airline to promptly enter into a new CBA when one expires. It has 3 provisions:
1. Either party must give the other party at least thirty days' written notice of an intended change in agreements affecting rates of pay, rules, or working conditions, and

2. The time and place for the beginning of conference between the representatives of the parties interested in such intended changes shall be agreed upon within ten days after the receipt of said notice, and said time shall be within the thirty days provided in the notice., and

3. Status quo on the old contract until a new agreement is reached or the parties are released by the mediator for self help.

Nobody can force an agreement upon the other and the negotiations often take several years. Gojet's 2007 agreement ended in 2014 and a new CBA was entered 4 years later. If Gojet can entice pilots to come with low salaries but big bonuses they won't be in a hurry to increase everyone's pay.

I've never seen the contract, but everyone has said that it will go to arbitration at the end of the year and probably be implemented early next year. They said that it is due to a clause that was added to the last one to keep it from getting drawn out again. I've also heard that the bonuses did not work as intended, so we probably won't see that like it was again

Hi, I interviewed on 5/21 and got a class date of 7/27 originally, but they just bumped me up to 7/13. I just got an email from ATP Flight School and I am starting my ATP-CTP course on 7/2. I am curious of the particulars regarding this course. It seems like the ground school is done via Zoom, so do you stay home for that and then they just fly you to Dallas for the sims? Or am I in Dallas the entire time? If anyone has gone through this and can shed some light it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Here on APC, in the airline profiles section, GoJet is now saying they are hiring Direct Entry Captains again.

1. If true, will a DEC fly only from the left seat?
Or will they use you as a right seat filler also?

2. Another person a few pages back asked, but no one answered.

What are the reserve shifts and how many days in a row do you work on reserve.

3. currently, what is the minimum number of days off in a month?

Thank You in advance.

DECs will most likely only fly from the left seat. They seem desperate for captains, cp is expecting that to be his biggest issue this year

They can cure that with a new contract containing a pay scale (and bonuses) above all others, not one that only looks better until you read the fine print.

FINE PRINT: Large Print - Company paid loss of license for 67% of pay. Fine Print: (Up to 1000 per month.)
Large Print - Longeviety match. Fine Print: (One year longevity for ever 2 years. Pay frozen after starting until you reach the longevity year.)

My bet is the company goes to the union and explains how they have a chance to grow but can't give much of a pay raise. so it is in everyone's best interest to accept what they are offering. At the same time they will offer a 65k new captain bonus.

They can and will use you as a right seat filler. The amount you get used in the right seat will depend on seniority and how fast the FOs senior to you start upgrading.
Gojet loves to recruit direct entry captains, they don’t have to pay you a bonus, they know you’ll be on reserve a long time so you can fill the right seat while the new FOs get lines and most importantly, they can fail you in initial so you stick around longer.
