OK... first of all lets all understand one thing. SENIORITY is everything... SENIORITY has to do with everything. G7 is the only regional which still has a CQFO system, and they have it for a good reason; they refuse to properly staff their airline. The current CBA does not provide any requirements in regards to proper reserve coverage per base per seat... so if they have more Captains than First Officers, its not an issue because they can just throw you in the right seat...and it is done by seniority. As far as training goes, everyone knows that G7 has one of the worst training programs out there. The company refuses to fully transition to AQP which means that you are under N & O. Many of the APD's in STL are former Transtates employees who thought the grass was greener on the other side. Many of them have a chip on thier shoulder and are very inconsistent. You have people that go through the training footprint who upgrade and have no issues, but quite frankly have no earthly business being in the left seat. Then you have people who are more then qualified who bust their ride over something stupid. The training is inconsistent and the company refuses to invest any more money into it then they have to. Think about that for a minute.
As far as attitude... you can have a great attitude here, it has no bearing on anything. The company will do what it wants to do, end of discussion. That is the reality of the situation. Do no be fooled. You will be promised the world and given a load of BS. That simple. As far as pay rates, yes the company is pushing 50 seat pay rates on an aircraft that is certified to carry 70+... All I can say is...watch the boat sink. If you really think it is worth sticking around all because of some falsely advertised flows... think again. Frontier has established flows with ATP and Embry Riddle...I wonder why? Maybe because we are not flowing anyone and because the company has no intention to do so... As far as bonuses they can take them away as quickly as they offer them. There is nothing in our CBA that prohibits the company from doing that. Allot of pilots who were promised bonuses did not get them. Many pilots left during the furlough. In the first 90 days of this year, 150 pilots left the property. Resignations and no recalls to go to other places which will treat them better. No surprise. I would not expect any bonuses to return anytime soon. That money came directly from United, and they are still in clean up mode after COVID. Any other regional who is offering bonuses, such as SKYWEST, it is coming out of their pocket, not United's. Big difference. Seniority is everything. Do not think that you will be put directly into the left seat if you are hired as a street Captain here... the reality is, without seniority you are nothing. |

We do not do CQFO. It is either CA or FO. All this talk about not having a contract or 50 seat pay is false. The old contract from 2016 is still in effect, new one being negotiated. There is no way we would take a pay cut, no idea how these rumors get started. You will get some right seat flying as a CA here if you are on reserve, but the majority will be left seat. You get paid as a CA 100% of the time if you are a CA regardless of what seat you fly from on any trip. Stuff you said about training dept here is 100% false. Just had to bring a few actual facts into the discussion.

Covid says there is no CQFO program but there basically is, except the pay is all captain pay now. Everyone can have a different position on this but I wonder if there will ever be a new CBA at GoJet. Now is the time for Hulas to cash in his chips. The only thing of value is the 550 contract. Compass is gone, TSA is gone, and he does not want to be looked at as a 3 time loser. Would any of us? He wants a graceful way out. I believe the first week of August that Gojet will announce they will be shutting down because of the "effects of the pandemic" and inability to get pilots. The planes will be transferred over to Skywest Airlines or Air Wisconsin and Gojet's last flight will be on September 30th or October 15th. In 2018 Skywest went to their pilots and negotiated a new contract even though the one they had was less than a year old. They needed to know the pilots would be happy in order to get new contracts for a lot of planes. Can you see Hulas paying the pilots more than just enough to show up to work? |

Wrong! Well, sort of. Covid is referring to the fact that the CBA has expired but they are now operating under section 156 of the Railway Labor Act where everything has to remain the same until a mediator is requested, declares an impasse and the pilots are cleared to strike or the company is free to lockout the pilots.

In regards to training… all the mid level and five star carriers know all about G7 and the bs that goes on in STL… nothing has changed in years. It sounds to me like someone again is drinking the coolaid a little too much and thinks that by kissing the company’s a.. they are going to get something out of it… sad thing is… they will find out the hard way… The company just yesterday posted a memo regarding premium pay for volunteer reserve. My advice to all is not to pick anything up and let the boat sink… by picking up regardless of pay you are continuing to allow the company to operate without regard to committing to negotiating better wages in negotiations… so essentially your screwing yourselves in the long run. I agree that the old man is looking for an out. The company does not own any of the aircraft on property. They are almost all leasebacks to SkyWest. The building in STL and the mx hangars are leased they are not owned. If the company has to start canceling flights because they don’t have crews then United will pull the flying and take it to SkyWest … 10 year contract is not worth the paper it is printed on… that is a fact… just look at express jet… |
GoJet Saga
This is all very confusing, if we could even call it info. I wish there were more reliable sources, the boots on the ground if you will, shedding light on these important issues with Gojet for those of us in July que for DEC training!
