Really, why so confused? GoJet has been around for approximately 15 years. It’s always had a bad reputation from its shady inception. All Hulas companies operate/operated right on the edge. Do you really think that their reputation is bogus? Some might say, you can’t change the spots on a leopard. Be careful. There’s plenty of information from those past or present at GoJet on any GoJet thread. Those defending GoJet on here may well be management, recruiters, or just plain naive.

When I read your post I thought the same thing, purposely misleading.

As a former cool aid drinker myself, I learned the hard way. But if you look at everything in terms of risks and rewards currently then you might see the smart choice is GoJet.

No training contract. You get 40 hours of sim and a little experience and if they do go under in October (most likely they will), then you are ready to start at AirWisconsin, or Mesa, or Skywest with a little experience. What did you lose? Maybe a month of seniority but you gained a leg up on training.

If GJ survives then you will log some Captain time pretty fast. In fact, if after 3 months you don't like it, QUIT. Once you tell them you are resigning, don't fly another trip unless they agree in writing not to kick you out of CASS until you are finished flying and home.

Well thats the thing about APC. If you try to give truthful, accurate information you must be a Kool Aid drinker. But if you go for the chip on the shoulder constant negativity and shock value, you see yourself as one of the cool kids at the back of the bus. Since this is an Information for New Hires thread, if you are coming here to get actual info, PM me. If you see posts from the select few that seem to have nothing better to do than to bash a current or former employer because of some percieved wrong they suffered, just read their post history. It will tell you all you need to know about their attitude, motivations, maturity level, and how fun (or not) it would be to fly a four day trip with them. Also when you see the word 'nowhere' spelled 'know where', or when every single word that ends in s is typed with an apostrophe before the s when not needed, those are also red flags.

Someone wants to drink the cool aid and say it is anything other then what it is… go right ahead … selling your soul to the company will get you know where… The 50 seat pay rate is no rumor… it is a fact. When the 550 came on to property the rates were negotiated then, and at that time the company pushed the same argument… history is repeating itself.

In regards to training… all the mid level and five star carriers know all about G7 and the bs that goes on in STL… nothing has changed in years. It sounds to me like someone again is drinking the coolaid a little too much and thinks that by kissing the company’s a.. they are going to get something out of it… sad thing is… they will find out the hard way…

The company just yesterday posted a memo regarding premium pay for volunteer reserve. My advice to all is not to pick anything up and let the boat sink… by picking up regardless of pay you are continuing to allow the company to operate without regard to committing to negotiating better wages in negotiations… so essentially your screwing yourselves in the long run.

I agree that the old man is looking for an out. The company does not own any of the aircraft on property.
They are almost all leasebacks to SkyWest. The building in STL and the mx hangars are leased they are not owned. If the company has to start canceling flights because they don’t have crews then United will pull the flying and take it to SkyWest … 10 year contract is not worth the paper it is printed on… that is a fact… just look at express jet…

ExpressJet closed shop because they had an expensive pilot group… “who was cheaper? C5 or XJT” Is what daddy United said.

Your post is amusing at best. GoJets reputation is not made up. Chip on your shoulder or your head buried in the sand. The truth is usually somewhere in between. But ask yourself these questions: why is it that you don’t hear these kind of stories about other regionals? Why did TSA and Compass close down? What happened to the Delta flying? Is it true that GoJet is having trouble paying for their leases with Skywest? These are the kinds of things that people should be looking into when thinking about working for GoJet. Best of luck to you if you’re still willing to take the risk. But you would be remiss if you didn’t gather any and all information and then make an informed decision. And your opinion is just one of many. People’s perceptions vary. Just because you do it via PM doesn’t make it all inclusive

There is no way we would take a pay cut, no idea how these rumors get started. You will get some right seat flying as a CA here if you are on reserve, but the majority will be left seat. You get paid as a CA 100% of the time if you are a CA regardless of what seat you fly from on any trip. Stuff you said about training dept here is 100% false. Just had to bring a few actual facts into the discussion.

You literally contradicted yourself. “We do not do CQFO.”- - - - “You will get some right seat flying as a CA on reserve.” Of course there is only ever a CA and a FO in the flight deck. But being a CA qualified to fly in the right seat and serve in the FO role is a CQFO.

This post is spot on. If you’re a CFI looking to start your 121 career I suggest you research all regionals thoroughly.

"CQFO" is a program they used to have many years ago. It was a "blended rate" when you flew from the right seat. That no longer exists. The way it is now, CA's always get paid as a CA regardless of what seat you fly from. If you can hold a line, it is always a CA (left seat) line. If you are on reserve, they can assign you a left seat trip or a right seat trip. You get paid the same. Go Jet is hiring street CA's, others are not. Is some left seat flying as a very junior CA better than no left seat flying at a place that's not hiring street CA's? Its up to you. Is getting paid a CA rate at G7 better than getting an FO rate as a junior FO at SkyWest? I don't know you decide. Plus the amount of time you will even spend on reserve here is decreasing pretty dramaticaly.

Has anyone noticed how we are changing the subject and trying to use money as a distraction or is it just me? The statement regarding the fact that if you hold a Captain line that you will not fly right seat is false… There are no provisions in the current CBA that prevent the company from throwing you in the right seat… in fact, if they wanted to through you in the right seat to consolidate a guy they will and they have in the past.

One thing I will say is that anyone who is trying to decide on which regional to choose from should realize that they should not only be concerned with the hourly pay rate… soft pay is just as important along with trip and duty rigs… The bottom line is that just because an airline is hiring street captains does not mean it is a good place to work… you have to ask a bigger question, which is why? Why are they offering to hire street captains…. There is always a reason for everything…

The answer is, that the company refuses to run the airline like an airline. There is no minimum reserve coverage, which again when you right seat qualify captains makes it easier and gives you more flexibility. That’s great for the airline, bad for you if you are looking at quality of life as a decision maker… and please… spare me the b.s. about how it is that way every where… the fact of the matter is … it is not… do your homework.

G7 is good at one thing… smoke and mirrors… the book looks great on the outside…. But inside is a whole different story.

Those of us who post “negative” things really are not being negative at all… and we have no real motivation to try to be negative… we have no ulterior all motive. We have nothing to gain other than simply telling you how it is with the hope that you will make better decisions then we did…

On the other hand… some like this person, does have ulterior motives… which is that they want you to come work here so they can save their own skin…

Think about that for a while… folks do you homework… look and compare contacts with any other regional… ask questions … get informed…

Last time Im gonna say this. I have no motive, not trying to "save my own skin" whatever that means, and I never said it was "like that everywhere". Just trying to put some actual facts on here for people considering where to go. I would consider base, commute, whether I needed at least some left seat time vs. going somewhere to sit all right seat, pay, soft pay, Aviate, etc etc etc when choosing a regional. There are a lot of good choices out there. Here is another actual fact: Im a lineholding CA, have not flown right seat for over 3 years since I was last on reserve. My right seat flying I've done here as a CA has been minimal. I agree with you on doing your homework, considering everything when choosing where to work. You can say what you want, I dont put opinions on here. Anyway you can have the last word, I'm done. Anyone needs info PM me.
