Probably not. They only have 100 captains, and only about ten planes are in the air at one time. It's probably more like 80% of the fleet is parked.

After a year you get FMLA so if you have a baby and need to bond then you are entitled to that. That does not mean that Gojet will give it to you, they don't really care what the law says. Know the FMLA rules! It is a little better than it was a while back because a pilot's doctor put him on a medicine that the FAA required him to not fly for 60 days. GoJet decided to show him they don't keep people around who take FMLA leave and fired him while still on FMLA leave. The VP even put their plan into an email because he was a real idiot and he was trying to impress the base manager with his manliness. They knew the guy was an active attorney in Chicago but Gojet thought they were smarter. He explained to them their errors and what it would cost them to go against him. He offered to settle for zero dollars just to keep flying and avoid the hassle. But GoJet likes to show us pilots who the bosses are and told him to pound sand. After 4 years of litigation Gojet lost in a jury trial. Gojet appealed the verdict and so he appealed the size of the damage award. After another 3 years of appeals the Federal Appellate Court rule against Gojet on every issue. The Appellate Court ruled in his favor on his appeal saying the damages formula used was flawed, yielding too small an award. Gojet then went to him asking for mercy. After paying the damages, and interest, and attorney fees, the case was settled 7 years later. Including their own attorney fees, Gojet probably paid between 2.5 million and 3 million.

After that they take FMLA a little more seriously but they still screw around quite a bit. If you come here you need to know the FMLA, you need to know the military leave rules. HK is an accountant and he schemes to take every dollar you are owed and put it into his pocket. And, it is not like that is something that is hidden. You need to understand that if you get sick or injured that after 84 days at most, that you are on your own, no medical coverage. You need to have a backup plan or plan on paying COBRA costs. Buy some real
insurance.
Gojet managers will keep feeding your ego with whatever it takes for you to feel special until you give a hint of disdain for how you're actually treated. If they sniff that you're not buying their empty promises and lies anymore, they get defensive, aggressive, dangerous. If you make it known that you won't tolerate being abused, they'll lash out in any way a manager can, starting with requiring proof of any sick call, scrutinizing your medical receipts, any travel you're doing while on leave, and audit your call record about any trip you missed.

If they need something from you, they will be as friendly as your best family. If you need something from them, like a hotel booking for your scheduled overnight, they don't know who you are, can't find your employee number "in the system", and they'll send an email to the outsourced (yes, OUTSOURCED) hotel booking company "as soon as I get off the phone with you". You sit curbside with the homeless outside the airport at 1 AM in the cold night waiting for a hotel reservation, and there's not a soul in scheduling that cares. Scheduling is on TikTok making fun of how poorly they're treating you. You're a joke to them, as the schedulers mirror managements actual attitude towards pilots.

The only way to break free from the abuse is to quit.

And if you pull up the flights on flight aware most the AC they are flying says owner is SkyWest inc.. Most of the aircraft parked in IGM are Mesa owned.. UA spreed sheet shows them having 61 AC. 24 parked in IGM So 37 “in service” and 8 more in “future” so 550 conversion…

This happened a couple years ago. Gojet sold their aircraft to SkyWest and then leased them back. This increased Gojet’s cash flow while reduced their liabilities. Smart move by management to shed assets ahead of time in the event of a shut down.

I'll bet you $50 it's $24 a day/750 a month added in to the paycheck.

or it's approximately 1.6 million per year if 9k daily rate. Could still be cheaper than paying penalties and have unused airplanes, and worse, no pilots to fly them out to the desert!

With premium, a current days pay for a gojet pilot can reach 2.5-3.5k. Replace the premium with a fixed daily amount, it's 2.5X in pay. In line with the tripling in pay last summer.

Whatever it is, United better show us some love in negotiations! 50-seat millionaire captains cannot be ignored by our negotiations committee.

Can't wait to hear from TaiMaiShu about how amazing this business opportunity is.

At this rate, it will make sense for UA pilots to go back.

So what is the latest on the G7 side? The rumor mill seems to not be churning as much.
Curious to hear what the latest and greatest is.
