It's not that bad now that HK need pilots and it costs a lot of money to train and replace one. But you'd better figure out how to have it done on your time off. He appears to have a 2 purpose process, save the money on the medical treatment, and 2, send the message to everyone not to take FMLA leave because you are a piece of dog dodo. Pilots medical insurance has always been a myth because if one gets cancer, he can't fly anyway so he gets fired, medical is gone unless the pilot takes over the payments.

With all the information out about Gojet, if someone is on here, he is doing something besides seeking knowledge. He is trying to justify his decision to go there. Maybe he likes the idea of starting at the very bottom, maybe it's the cool logo, but it is something other than the normal factors for choosing a job. Maybe it's that he just wants to rush into a challenging situation, like a machine gun nest.

Or maybe it’s the fact that they’re one of the only airlines hiring right now with the quickest class dates? And that the information already on the forms is years old?

I know a guy in training there right now.

Classes are filled up into the summer, and he and his classmates are pretty happy with what they're finding so far. Second-hand anecdotal information might not be worth much, but there you go.

I must agree, people should ignore the people with 15 years of G7 experience because they might be tainted by their actual experiences.

Stick with the impression of guys who just started and have not had the chance to have had their opinions tainted by real world experience.

It us all a matter of attitude, you get out of it what you put in.

Woman after her first week in Auschwitz, "They keep us working 12 hours a day, we all live in a dormitory crammed together, food portions are small. We all have the feeling of being together for a common cause, nobody is overweight anymore, and I lost 5 pounds my first week. For the first time in years I've been able to control my weight. Overall it has been a very positive experience. Thank you WeightWatchers-Third-Rich!"

A little distasteful. And I don’t work for GoJet either.

The comparison is somewhat apt, as the mission of Gojet mangement is to exploit and extract cheap labor then discard or dispose of the employee with no regard for their wellbeing, for profit, using unethical means. When you are on the seniority list at Gojet, you are constantly analyzed by the management/scheduling group to see how hard they can push you to fly without regard for safety, your family, health or career.

They'll extend or junior assign you out of convenience to them, rather than use a reserve as the contract requires.

They'll say you must fly the full 2-hour extension, putting yourself and your passengers at risk, or be threatened with letters in your file or termination. They've suspended pilots for calling in fatigued before.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tiaDXd65U8&t=448s The fact that this video had to be made.... It's a common occurrence that racist or intolerant Captains go on rants against minority coworkers, gate agents, ramp agents etc. Those Captains continue to fly fully endorsed with the full confidence of the Gojet management team, because, in a sense, they are one and the same.

And how long ago were you there experiencing this? Years ago? Now?

Not meaning any disrespect to the poster for his comment, but this is a good segue into this topic.

What is distasteful is the way that Gojet has operated, and Trans States Holdings for that matter, for the past 30 years plus. Firing people when they get diagnosed with cancer or diabetes, firing people for taking FMLA leave or military leave, is not just against the law, it is unethical and wrong.

I thought that post made a perfect statement. A new person who has only been exposed to the good things about a company has no ability to testify about things he was not there to witness. I'm sure that Tom Cruise was probably not harassed by Harvey Weinstein, so he would not be able to accurately comment on something that happened to one of the young ladies. Let one of these happy new hires start dating a flight attendant who becomes diagnosed with breast cancer and is then fired, then I think his review of GoJet would not be so hunkey-dory.

My opinion, if you can go anywhere else, DON'T GO TO GOJET. You might make it through your time at Gojet unscathed, but why fight the odds and why take the risk.

When you’re on here long enough you see the same cycle.
-someone asks about G7
-they said “it can’t be that bad”
-they go and say it’s fine
-reality hits
-they leave

They’re the only place that offers a decent class date. The rest of the airlines have offered me classes 2-3 months later. I don’t think it’s worth waiting that long to go elsewhere? Just go to GoJet to get my 121 experience rolling?
