Pilot Extremist Behavior & Ramifications

Over the past month, several people at the Pentagon were fired and replaced with people loyal to Trump, and stories are now circulating that the Pentagon was refusing to dispatch the National Guard when the riots started because they feared how the image of the NG surrounding the Capitol would look. I guess they figured a bunch of rioters inside the halls chanting “Hang Mike Pence” with a noose outside would play better for the world, but I think they were ordered to not deploy the NG or wait on direction from higher up. Either way, everyone responsible For security in DC is suspect because this was expected, but supposedly people said there was no real risk because these were law abiding peaceful republican protesters.

I don't know what news channel you're watching, but I saw plenty of people with assault style rifles and other firearms. 2 pipe bombs and about a dozen molotov cocktails were found. And let's not forget the several dudes like Brock running around in full battle gear with plastic handcuffs?

Cool story. But the NG is not like dialing 911, they don't respond in 20 minutes they have to contact their people, get them mobilized and geared up before moving on the objective. Typically days (at least one or two), not minutes or hours. If the guard was already deployed to DC on standby, then it would be different (they were deployed there earlier this year).

What should they have been mobilized for? If the powers that be didn't really see this one coming, then they wouldn't have called out the guard a week in advance. But now they know, so maybe they'll lead the problem next time.

Are you ****ing with me or are you just that ignorant? Every major newspaper around the country had headlines that there was expected to be violence in DC on January 6. Parler was full of people saying they were showing up in DC with guns. Trumps attorney Lin Wood said that they should hang the Vice President. The “powers that be” knew there was a threat, but they refused to act because they were either told to stand down (sounds familiar) or they thought they were safe because a bunch of white, armed republicans didn’t pose a threat. Now people are resigning left and right because they know they ****ed up, the insurrection didn’t work, and they’re asses are on the hook for it.

At the end of day NO ONE IN WASHINGTON DC GIVES A SINGLE F... ABOUT YOU. Im truly dumbfounded how unbelievable stupid we are as a society. I mean JFC people. Figure out this out already.

Sigh. More like burned out with all of covid-induced frothing at the mouth. I'm still trying. We need to be able to discuss government and policy as it relates to our highly-regulated industry (if Ron drove a forklift instead of a jet nobody would be talking about this).
The art is to draw the line at red/blue partisan politics... don't cross the partisan line, but some people also need to stop assuming that everything anyone else says is a slam against the rabid fanatical political persuasion.
