You’re underlying suggestions for a causal into retirement or into a grave gives light for a nomination for TOTD.
In 8.5 years at the regionals, I have seen this first hand when I was on a positive space. It's rare but it happens.

If I was on a positive space I’d laugh in the guys face. No way I’d put up with that. I’d hope he would kick me off for not asking permission to use my ticket....

I, a regional pilot, had a DH on AA one time and as I got off and was walking up the jet bridge the captain yelled up for me and asked if I was jumpseat if. I could tell he was getting ready to let loose but he just crawled back into the plane after I told him I was just a DH

I'll save you the time and tell you exactly what happened. The Captain received some inaccurate information from the gate agent or flight attendant and he/she is one of those types who flies off the handle pretty easily without knowing the whole story or getting both sides. I can almost guarantee you that the FOs and FAs dread working with this Captain.

Kudos to the regional guy, who stayed calm and collected, while trying to educate this CA who was about to have an aneurysm.

What kind of bubble does this guy live in that he doesn’t know who flies for his company and who gets pass travel. If his ignorance doesn’t force him into retirement, maybe a heart attack will.

I think I’ve deadheaded on one of this guys flights. As I’m settling into my comfy middle seat in steerage, El Capitan comes on back to give me an earful about not checking in with him to ask for a ride even though I was a space positive DH. I just don’t really give a **** anymore and always stop by the flight deck even though 99% of the time I get the “why are you bothering me?” look.

I'm a little unclear on what your status was. Were you jumpseating? If you're jumpseating, even though you may have been given a boarding pass with an assigned seat, the etiquette is that you introduce yourself to the crew and request to jumpseat.

I'd ask for his name and file a complaint. There's absolutely no reason to treat a paying customer this way.

He said he was a positive space DH.

Actually, he didn't say that at all. Here's what he posted:

Nothing about positive space. All he said was he was assigned a seat.
