At least one civilian. Admittedly it’s a small sample size from which I draw my information but it’s happened. Further details on their total flight time and experience aren’t mine to know so couldn’t say that they had the R-ATP and upon hiring had whatever was needed to remove the R but there’s that.

Retirements
I haven't seen it in any other threads but is there a positing of mandatory retirements (age 65) by year for HAL? I would assume that being a legacy that they might have a lot of senior guys aging out soon?
Also, Is HAL currently hiring older pilots from other markets (135, fractional, cargo, ect..) who might age out in the next ten years (creating near term upgrade possibilities) or are they trying to pick up young pilots who will stay for their whole careers?
Lastly, do you score any points if you bring Lilikoi Malasadas to the interview?

I haven’t seen an updated retirement list in years but the last one shows 20-30 pilots retiring each year for the next 10+ years. Yes, they hire from all age brackets, to include some over 60 and some in their early 20’s. Current upgrade times are more driven by growth than retirements, due to 330 freighters and 787’s. ~6 months for 717CA, ~3.5 years for 321CA, and ~6 years for 330CA. Those will all likely continue to come down some in the near term, unless they don’t, cause you never know.
