If you don't want to look at yourself in the mirror again and don't mind being hated and getting dirty looks from all other airline pilots as you walk through the terminal go to PSA. If you have dignity and self respect choose another carrier.

As the saying goes: "The only thing worse than flying for PSA is admitting you fly there"....

Good luck.

Don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel.

As for me, I'm a CLT local at a point in my career where a year or two of jet time will really enhance the old resume. And to heck with commuting, been there done that, so PSA is really my only option. Thoughts?
Commuting sucks. If you can work from the city you live in, do it.

PSA may suck in some respects but a lot of people have only done a short time here and moved on to bigger and better things. I have never not had my pay check bounce, nor have i been laid off or downgraded.
Management knows this is a place for short timers. That is why we have the contract we have. They are hoping that they can get some good 5 years out of you and then have a spot for you at mainline.
It can be a lot of work, a lot of time away from home. But if you live in base and can hold a line rather then commuting to reserve for another airline just because you hate PSA... well that is just dumb.

Seafeye- you work for PSA? What are the realistic chances for mainline within 5 years? What is the time like while you are there? Everyone makes it sound horrible, but you seem to challenge that. Give us your thoughts.

I doubt a major airline cares.

Trust me. I'm not a good spokes person for PSA. But I will be honest. Good and bad. Maybe you will get to mainline in 5 years. It has been done. I will probably double that when my number comes up. So maybe 5 years for the lucky bunch and 15 for others. You will fall somewhere in the middle.
Will you have a jet job that pays ok? Yes
Will you get laid off in the next couple years? Probably not.
Will you hate life at times? Yes
Does reserve suck? Yes
But hotels are getting better.
Schedules are finally flexible.
117 is helping the fatigued levels.
Psa is a regional airline. Pick the airline closest to home.

Hi, I Fly for PSA and have no problem with proclaiming it. Since I added it to my resume, I have had calls from 2 majors, so you are basically satiated with fecal matter

Thanks, Seafeye.

You say pay is ok. I've heard different.
Close to home would be Dayton, which is why I'm interested. Good chance I can keep that?
10 yrs sounds a little long before mainline. How long at FO position?
Thanks for the info.
