Horizon is AQP. Current footprint is two days ground, three days sim. Our AQP Is phenomenal.

2 days ground and 3 days sim? Isn’t initial ground school suppose to be 2 months then IOE? Sorry I don’t know much about 121 training

For CQ it's what they said. 2 days ground plus sim.

For Initial, it's about a month of ground and then your SV test. Sims are about 3 weeks with breaks scattered in between. Then OE. So yeah, about 2 months - 2.5 months from hire date to simulator checkride.

Default PDP Contract Details

What does the PDP contract lock you into? 2 years of employment? Longer? Only if you take the $12,500 they offer? Since it’s tied to a flight school when you apply, are there instructing requirements from the flight school? Minimum hours of dual given? Full time scheduling availability, etc?

Two years of employment. After that you're free to go anywhere you want. My flight school is not affiliated with Horizon but I got the phone interview about a month and half after submitting application and in-person interview about five months after that. After the interview I waited about 10-15 minutes and the program coordinator came back to the room with the acceptance news and I accepted on the spot and now the stipend is taking care of my multi and CFII. Instructing is not officially required (maybe unless you go through Ascend Pilot program with Hillsboro) but they prefer PDP members to have instructor experience. If you get accepted, get on board. It's going to be more competitive with recently announced pay raise. Some of people here and a lot of students out in big flight schools, especially younger crowd, are allergic to cadet programs but if you want some certainty and stability of knowing where you'll go next, I think PDP or cadet at other regionals are great option.

Thanks roka2010. Does the two year employment hook still apply if you don't take the stipend? If you do take the stipend, is the pay back pro-rated if you leave before the two year mark is up?
