You could have 10 silos, doesn't matter. The company EACH day decides how many pilots will be in each silo. If they need everyone in an afternoon silo C ( not likely, i guess) then that's the way it'll be. You are not bidding on a silo for the month or even for your weekly reserve block. Each day, just like RSV today.
Start times
A 0100-0659
B 0700-1159
C 1200-1659
D 1700-2200

Thank you for providing some useful information. So you’re only on reserve 5 hours out of the day? When do you find out when you are on RSV for a given day?

you find out the morning before what your RAP time is. so for Tuesday, you find out Monday by 8am base time what your RAP start time is for Tuesday.

he was only giving you the silos for the start times of your RAP (reserve availability period). the RAP is then generally 10 hours long. exceptions to that are when your start time is late in the day and they leave you on reserve until say 1am, or 3am or something, but you started at 7pm, so your RAP is only 6 or 8 hours.

So there is no way to bid when your start time is...you find out the day prior. Aka you will have no routine or set sleep schedule.

Consistent sleep schedule and jetblue trips shouldn’t be used in the same sentence. Hope you plan on flying the 190 if you want any semblance of one of those.

Reserve is only good here if you live in base. I do it by choice sometimes when it’s not summer and it works out well most months. If you’re commuting or drive far, just grin and bear it. When do you start training? Seems like forever. Luckily you’ll be starting when summer is over I hope.

Have very low expectations. Reserve at many regionals is better, with better rules, and more opportunities to make money. The only good thing is that that generally don’t change your schedule too much once you’ve been given a trip... but wait! With new 25.R rules they will more often since reserves lost EPS on every day but the last day (if the company extended you in any way outside your footprint for the trip they gave you, you were fairly well financially rewarded. Not anymore).

I’ll say it again, but more clearly...

You can still only be emergency assigned twice per year so it’s not going to be much different except the compensation. You’re not getting extended after every trip.
