A few years during the great “cotton shortage” we we losing pilots left and right. Their used uniforms were “organized” in huge pile and new hires were told to rummage though and find shirts that fit.
Remember the plastic shirts. Those were “high tech”. Guys went out on bought their own. I just wore the old shirt
That is the model.
Let’s all fix it! Ha ha ha ha ha!
You just don’t understand that is great leadership and management in their minds.
This issue has been going on for well over a decade.
When are the rain coats arriving! They said they were at the same time “allowing” us to bring our own.
What was the real solution?

A friend of a friend is going to use our 190 sims soon (<2 weeks) for his Moxy/Breeze E195 initial. Interesting coincidence (although I dunno where else there are dual HUD 190/195 sims).

I’m sure some people are harder on their uniforms. In my experience, I’m still wearing the original issued uniform after two years. Pants are in fine shape and the shirts are ok. I’ll refresh the shirts this year. Tailoring cost me $15/shirt and the pants were $12 each. I had the shirts taken in and the sleeves hemmed, and the pants were hemmed only. One of my ties is indestructible and the other pattern falls apart after one use. I stopped wearing that pattern. The suiting jacket is in fine shape, the overcoat has hardly been worn, and the sweater is junk. However, it’s my favorite to wear due to its warmth so I deal with it.
I don’t get the *****ing about tailoring. The uniform allowance is plenty to cover it. If it isn’t, you should find a different tailor or accept that you want to spend more on “premium” tailoring. I’m sure an RSA will cover your next 5 years of tailoring.
The uniforms are the least of our problems. We should fix them if we can, but spend very little effort on it compared to the rest of our issues.

I've been hearing that "Well our uniforms are the least of our problems," sh!t for 13 years.
Maybe some of us think it's important to wear a decent good quality uniform for the sake of dignity and to look like professionals instead of looking like a bunch of clowns in sweat shop outlet garbage.
