While I respect everyone’s opinion on this Vote, my issue is the 10+ years that we as a pilot group are stuck with repercussions of a yes vote. This ELT will be long gone and WE the pilots will still be flying for this company. The short term gains are NOT enough for me to vote yes for this agreement. A 2% COL gain and a Flica waiting room are not enough for me to vote yes. We must remember how long it took for us to get a contract and how much we as a pilot group gave up for section 1. And now we are going to just hand over those hard fought gains! No thanks, the company can do better and so can our elected leadership. No thanks to LOA 13. NO VOTE HERE

The best thing they could do for this pilot group is to send out WARN letters. It would wake people up from this bizarre fantasy that the company is a kindly parent who looks out for our best interests rather than a corporation that exists to generate a return for shareholders.

Here’s my cocktail napkin math:
(Generic numbers used to make a point and keep it simple)
Let’s say we do 1000 departures per day (Airbus, 150 seats) out of said ( hypothetical) Focus City to another Focus City (or the Old Caribe). Post LOA, American is doing 35% with a similar size (737 or 320) or 350 departures. If they opt to use a 76 seat RJ then it’s 700 departures vs our 650 since the percentages are based on ASMs. It will take take a lot of demand to claw our way back to 1000, especially since we’re only getting 65% of that new demand.
Jetblue and shareholders are happy since we’re getting revenue from that 35% of the flying that American is doing without any cost. American is happy with planes flying and access to our network. Our careers stagnate or if we grow, we do it by adding service to Peoria.
Worst case, maybe, but if American isn’t really going to take the full 35% then amend the LOA to reflect a more realistic number.
All this for a 2% COLA raise? One time?
...and nothing against Peoria. They have an awesome Applebees there.

There is 4100 pilots here, the Bp, PF, APC, JBLU forums are only a small fraction of the people who are vocal. There is a much larger portion of “DILGAF’s” out there.

The company can still do a lot of the NEA with LOA 12. If they want something that looks more like LOA 13 it's going to have more guarantees and Profit Sharing. At least to get my vote.
