I worked alongside pilots that are coming through the university flight schools in various gateway programs/flows. There is a reason airlines like United are running their own flight school. The candidates they bring in are 100% dedicated to the company and will do whatever they are told. The vast majority come from customer service backgrounds (flight attendant, retail, etc) and are screened for their adherence to company beliefs and "purpose". These are people with low critical thinking skills, which is exactly what the company wants.
This is why airlines like spirit, JetBlue, even United hire low time young kids through gateways, because these candidates don’t understand anything about the history of the airline business. So you see a 26 year old with 3000 hours goes to B6/United over a regional guy with 6000 PIC because they know the young kid will be an obedient employee.
This is what all the hiring like Frontier’s flow from ATP flight school and JetBlue’s gateway is about. Obedient YES voters in future employees. Kool aid drinkers. And behold the results.

Do you have any data to back that up? I spent the last four years at a regional, am a new hire, and am furious at what the union put forth and the pilot group has agreed to. Asking my class, the majority have said this is insane. Sadly, none of us are allowed to vote on something so important to our future. Ironically the pilots I’ve heard for this in the training center are all older and want the extra cash.
One even said “I know this isn’t the best for the pilots, but I’m close to retirement, and I can see how much money it’ll make me as we struggle to fly the additional New York growth.” YES, he said that to our new hire class.

I couldn't agree more. As a no voter I still agree with your sentiment. I only feel that you are only wrong in that it doesn't represent 40% most of the No voters I know aren't bitter about this maybe disappointed but not bitter. The negative posts on here represent 5-10% at best. Most of us are happy and thankful to be here. Feel free to attack me if it makes you feel better as I won't respond. I fully expect at least 8-10 attacks from the usual suspects.
