Thanks, that’s what I thought, but a friend seemed sure that the Captains would go up on the new list and FOs would go down, regardless of original DOH. Essentially a big reshuffling of everyone’s seniority within their original airline list. It didn’t sound right to me, but in 20 years of airlines this would be my first M&A.
For the Spirit folks, many will probably have to start commuting, bc JB doesn’t seem to care for small satellite bases at all. I just can’t see them keeping all of Spirit’s current bases. I would expect them to consolidate those into B6’s existing hubs with *maybe* 1-2 strategic holdovers like LAS.
Totally hope this is just a ploy to run the price up or create a poison pill as a temporary defensive tactic

This is gonna suck for all of us: B6 folks will very likely see seniority diluted given Spirit’s career expectations in overlapping bases and fleet types.

It takes 5 years to hold JFK 320 CA at B6–more to hold BOS. INSANELY more to hold MCO/LAX 320 CA. I think it’s what 8-10 to hold plug CA in FLL?
I’m trying to find an angle in which this is even neutral for JB pilot seniority. I’m not seeing it—the downside range is all negative. Our best case scenario is worse than the status quo
Just hope A Cut Above reconsiders making blue shirts again. It’s the only possible good thing I can see coming out of this

It appears to be still be < 4 years to hold FLL 320 CA at NK according to APC

Historically it is what your seniority can hold as opposed to CURRENT seat / equipment. Google status and category. Example(hypothetical): LUAL most senior #1 gets treated as a 747CA even if they are NB CA. Native sen list wont change until SLI.

Haven't seen it mentioned, but I'm wondering if the union officers knew about this. The timing is way too suspect.
