Reserves can already fly on their days off through VDA. This gives them the opportunity to get pay over guarantee without hoovering up the open time in advance, which would make it harder for line holders to modify their schedules.

Why only VDA ? Really why not be able to pick from first come / first serve open time towards extra pay for the reserve guys. I think it would be huge for reserve guys and make it a lot easier for line holders to drop trips. Maybe we can vote on it !

Many other airlines do allow day off flying to be paid above guarantee for Reserves, and I think this should be added in the JCBA. At JB RSVs can add VDA to their days off (voluntary list where CS calls you and offers a 200% pay trip) or they can pick up PREM trips (150%) from the open time pot if/when they become available. Any flying added on VAC days goes above guarantee for RSVs as well.

Given RSVs can already pick up 150% from the OT pot, I dont see why they couldn't also be allowed to pick up regular pay trips and paid above guarantee. Yes, there would likely be some gaming of the system by LCRs picking up tons of straight flying at the beginning of the month then getting bypassed on LCR days since they have built up a lot of credit already. In the end this makes RSVs more productive in the eyes of the company, and they would likely support it. I'm willing to bet software/accounting issues have been the reason it doesn't exist already.

I’d like to see something along the line of Monthly credit above 85 hours be paid at 125% up to 95 hours. Above 95 150%. Kind of goes along the lines of all open time being marked premium. Of course premium, RSA and VDA on top.

The only condescension is what you are making up in your head.

So ~28 hours TAFB pays 15 at Blue, is that right?

I can get on board with this. Also what FlyBy said, I want reserves to be able to pick up above guaranteed on days off. Our whole entire Open Time/premium system needs to be torn down and built again. As it stands, the same top 20% churn through VDA’s every day, while the rest pick up scraps. And here’s the funny thing, those same 20% actually get mad at guys below them for picking up straight time…not kidding.

“I mean, ya know, it's pretty much verbatim from the contract and fairly self explanatory”...… go read the JB CBA Section 4.B if you don’t precisely describe the details of the you trip example… We have several rigs in addition to TAFB… you need to give us specific examples and specifics definitions otherwise we can’t answer your questions.

I would have to have a copy to do that.

As I very plainly said(and you want to attach some imaginary condescension to), I posted ALL the language we have on the subject AND gave an example what the fu˘k else do you want?

I know you would have to have a copy that’s my point. But like I said we need a precise example of the trip you are citing so we can tell you how it would be credited at JB. Otherwise I’d just refer you to our contact cause you are not giving us enough to work with to give you an accurate answer. Don’t get frustrated because we can’t read you have in mind so we can accurately compare.

Again with the hostility…. Are all of you like that?

Yes, depart east coast late afternoon for a westbound transcon, 24hrs off, redeye back east landing around 8am. 2 duty periods, ~12hrs block, 15hrs pay credit due to average daily guarantee.

that being said, the company has built all those types of trips into 4day pairings where you now do a super high credit day turn on day 1, layover in base, then the 3day described above days 2-4. Block about 20hrs and rig is 20hrs as well, so removes the soft time.
