2.33 Hours per day, at $28.57 per Hour.

This works out to $66.57 per day, or ~$2000 per month, until LOE completion or 45 days after DOH, whichever comes first.

Yeah. It’s terrible, and embarrassing that it’s still like this in 2023.

2000 per month until you pass your LOE. I seem to remember there was an exception to this if your LOE takes longer than a certain amount of time, but I was unable to find a reference.

I can’t believe the company just put out an LOA and did not address this. 😞

Not trying to throw shade, but suck it up. It’s ONLY 45 days out of your career. Y’all have it so easy, stop complaining.

ALPA does not bargain on behalf of those who are not even yet on property. If the company finds training pay to be a hindrance to hiring they can come to ALPA with an LOA that raises training pay in exchange for enhancements to line pilots' QOL and/or pay.

Do they even need to negotiate with ALPA if they wanted to change newhire pay? I thought a newhire wasn't covered under the CBA or ALPA til they finished LOE

Regardless, it’s a perfect intro and insight for newhires to realize how they will be compensated, treated, and valued by their employer over a career at jetblue. Gotta teach the core values early. Something about $avety or something.
