I’ve been out of the “know” for awhile, but does DAL still not pay or provide hotel for initial new hires?

DAL new hires are provided hotels, as well as Positive Space to/from their home any time they have 48 hours off.

Training Pay is about $8,300/mo

This works out to $66.57 per day, or ~$2000 per month, until LOE completion or 45 days after DOH, whichever comes first.

Yeah. It’s terrible, and embarrassing that it’s still like this in 2023.
Oof. JB was on my list of potential places to go, but this alone steers me away. Maybe that's their goal to begin with.

Of a million reasons to choose an airline, training compensation is number 999,999.

Don’t be short sighted. If the average hire is 30 years old, you will spend .0035% of your career in new hire training. Make a list of 10 things that matter to you in a career destination and try to go there.

For years Delta didn’t cover hotels for training. UPS still pays $52 year one. But Delta is Delta and year two at UPS is $199. Focus on what career items matter.

Fair points but when regionals pay more during training on candidates who have never touched a jet (a higher risk of wash out) and then some majors pay this low to people who have 121 experience (lower risk now) it makes the company look really bad.

It seems the easy solution here is for you to not take a job at JetBlue. While the training pay is an issue, it shouldn't be the type of issue that you make career decisions on.

Maybe it’s a case of letting your garden weed itself? If you’re looking for a quick type rating while waiting on a legacy to call, then training pay is a big deal. If you’re planning on spending a few decades here, training pay barely matters.

I was actually looking at JB as a potential long term thing for me because it checks pretty much every box for my lifestyle. It just sucks to see the training pay low cause in a way it's pretty disrespectful. "We'll train ya but we got almost no faith in you so we don't wanna pay you too much yet."
