Thank you Southerner. When on reserve, is it 5 on 2 off (like a regional) or is it a mix? Is it commutable (generally)? Any airport reserve? Long Call? Commuter Clause? Being on the outside I only know what B6 employees tell me...so assume I don't know anything....LOL! How do you think the commute from ATL would be?

I ask because I live 1:30 from BOS, so QOL would probably be pretty good on the commute end of things.
Still waiting to decide on my job offers from Delta, United, Airways and American. <sarcasm>
*Is there commuter protection if you drive to work at a domicile and you hit traffic?
*And again, is it only a 2-hour callout at jet blue, or is there long-call or hot reserve?

Sorry that you have to read through all the "thread hijacking" to get answers to your questions.

No hot reserve, long call is 14hrs. No commuter protection if you are late, but from past experience you can see a trip that will be coming your way, and generally get more than 2hr notice.

Internet message boards are all about filtering out the garbage. Theres a lot of garbage.
Thanks for the reply! If selected from the thousands of applications for interview, and if hired, and if awarded BOS I would then be living in base and driving/bussing/training(?) to the airport from 1:30 away. So sitting reserve from home is what it's all about. That, and my wife thinks blue shirts go best with my eyes.

*Employee parking in BOS?
I have "commuter clause" now, and have used it while stuck in traffic when I used to live in domicile. It got me out of trouble a handful of times when I exceeded the 2 hour callout trying to get to the employee parking lot.

Min of 3 days on reserve, max bid award will be 5 in a row, but you could swap to make 6 in a row if you wanted. Min of 2 days off between blocks of RSV days.

Ahh, being able to see what crew scheduling sees would make life easier on reserve. I would assume that JetBlue scheduling is better than Regional "X" scheduling.
And if there is projected hiring of 400 in 2014, chances of getting off reserve might be quick unless you're hired at the tail end.

Living near ATL I'd be commuting to reserve. Is there a system for parking at your commuting airport....ATL in this case? Are the crash pads in BOS reasonable? (I had one based at JFK.) Guys...thanks for an open and honest dialogue without the BS that's all to common on APC.

Your protection for computing is our new found dependability policy. You can talk to your chief pilot...
2 hours. We have long call that's 14 hours however being junior you will work weekends and you will not get it. Long call days usually get handed out Monday Tuesday and wendsday. More often than not, they call with the how fast can you get here? ...2 hours

I would pull up crewtrac and see who was on the times and how many days. I would say for my 5 months maybe 4 two hour call outs.
Reserve on the 190 is very different as we don't do red eyes so you don't get some of the whacky times the bus guys get.
I think out reserve system is ok and if it is properly staffed it's pretty good. In the end it's reserve.
Living in base you will be set.
