I had a friend who is a FO for JetBlue offer to give me a internal rec, do you think this will help my chances of landing an interview?
I had 3 internals. Interviewed Nov 2013 and in class Jan 2014.
Most of my class had over 5000tt and 3000 jet, but I think a couple had slightly less.
About 8 regionals another 8 corporate and the rest military.
I've heard that 5000 to 6000tt and 3000+ jet is a good number. Seems to make sense because that's what most of my class was.

Cheers!
Thank you on both counts, new to the forum so any info on how to navigate the wealth of info here is much appreciated!

Can anyone provide any insight as to what they ask during the phone interview these days?

Hasn't changed ,, the phone interview is more just to confirm that your app online is accurate to what is present ... It's not a real interview and doesn't really effect your chances unless you were to say something extreme like of I have 5 failed check rides I forgot to mention on my app... The phone portion is realy more a clerical process really , and a chance to arrange a date for a interview .

Got the call today "out of the blue" (pun intended). As stated in a previous post, the recruiter asked basic questions like hours, certifications, education etc. just to make sure I met the minimums. Also asked if I had any failed checkrides/training events. I told him I DQ'ed during carrier quals as a student. He said it was not a disqualifier and sent me a form to fill out to explain the circumstances. He asked if I had any internal LORs to which I replied no, not yet... Got the congrats email shortly after. Interview date 11/6.

Background: Military P3 guy. 3800TT, 2600 PIC almost all turboprop with a little jet time.

Congrats on the interview. I went to an Emerald Coast seminar a few weeks before and practiced. It was well worth it! There's lots of informative trip reports on JB interviews on this forum as well.

Did they offer you the interview on the call or did you have to wait for the email?

He offered the interview over the phone then sent the official email invitation shortly after.

Emerald Coast is pretty great. I went a few weeks ago in Seattle. I'll have to scrub the forums for the trip reports. Thanks for the heads up!

Good luck to all that interviewed today. There was about 48 of us. Hopefully we all get to move on to phase 2.
