Where do you need to be standing or sitting at the end of the 2 hour call out. In the terminal, at the gate, sitting in the seat of the plane or in another holding pen of sorts?
Reserve call out is defined as Reporting for duty 2 hours after positive contact. Section D FSM

Positive contact must be 15min or less from point of first contact attempt. If it's beneficial to you to get your back end moving more power to ya, but in most cases you probably need all the time you can get.

Reporting for duty is defined in the FOM 1.38.1.

The FOM is actually pretty vague as to exactly where one should be at report. BUT! It does define the things you are to do after reporting.

SO, when CS calls you with that infamous "how fast can you get there" FOM states exactly what you are supposed to do once you have reported. Do you job correctly, skipping steps is unsafe.

Personally, since our really awsome GPS tracking beacons the ipad will tell them exactly where you are and every key stroke you make, I like to make sure I'm inside security or in the general vicinity at the two hour mark. At that point I can move on to ensuring a proper and safe preflight.

these are my interpretations and should be no way in any form considered the views of my employer or my union....

Maybe they caught me talking to Delta, SWA, UA and AA???

Waaait a minute? you didn't get a call 3 hours after you applied? You probably spelled your name wrong on the app...

I'm sure you'll get a call when they get around to calling people for interviews. keep yer panties on tight.

Biggest thing is I’d like to minimize time spent in hotel rooms. I’m good with working more days in a month, more legs, odd hours, etc. but being in base (i.e. home) at the end of flying when possible if that makes any sense? Lastly, maximizing $$$ is not a primary motivating factor for me (heresy!).

Just retired from the military so lacking on how things work. Greatly appreciate anything you can offer.

Month three on RSV and I have worked 5 days in Aug with no overnights. 190 in BOS.

Reserve in base on the 'junior plane' is a beautiful thing. I list VDA's to TRY to work and don't get called as everyone need their consolidation
