I'll third this.

We are taking deliveries of almost another 100 airbus from now until 2022. Assuming no more orders and no lease returns we will have over 5000 on property in 6-7years. I'm going to assume they will increase that number as well with our CBA. Vacation alone will increase that number by 8-10% along with other work rules.

Just me spitballing again, but I'd say by 2022 we are nearing the 6000 pilot mark. baring any M/A or full nuclear economic meltdown Everyone here today or in the near future should be looking pretty good. But I would not count on any kind of 2-3 year upgrade moving forward.

Getting Boston out of the gates shouldnt be that hard, you'll be in in a few months worst case. Time on RSV is anyones guess. Totally depends on which plane you get... could be years could be months.

goodluck!

How often are people able to get the 190 first and then at their year mark move to the 320?

Getting 190 is easy as a new hire and then it's a two year seat lock.

Ah ok. Thought it was only a year.
So can you make more money holding a line on the 190 than reserve the AB?

Yes... As long as you have reserve the pay will most likely be guarantee. Theres no pay difference till year two.

I'm more asking about year 2 with the difference in pay rates.

It's more than pay. But the Airbus is 10% higher on the scale. I'm on the 190 and I'll not be bidding 320 because I like my overnight, and I don't do any red eyes.

I bid better than 50% on the 190 and its 55%+ for everything else.

I'm strictly QOL at this point.

I love the QOL in the 190 as an FO. Got here in fall of 2011. I bid top 13%. I could hold Captain. Not interested. Productive trips average 6.71 hours on PBS. I do day trips with a crash pad.

I do look forward to the Airbus one day but not at the expense of my QOL. One mans trash is another mans treasure?

Absolutely agree. I love spending time with my mini-me. I live in base, bid reserve on the Airbus, hold weekends off, I try to work as little as possible, but pick up some RSA's here and there.
Trashy to some, treasure to me!

I hope to accomplish the same. Ending 4 years of commuting is treasure #1.
