jetBlue Hiring

I thought PRIA was only to contain information pertaining to the pilots training records and check ride failures with the previous airline. I was not aware that they could add subjective information, like said pilot was difficult to work with or was not a team player. I'm pretty sure beyond PRIA most companies can only confirm or deny that a person worked for them. My previous employer told me that is all they would ever say for fear of being sued.
All I know is we had the management pilot in our class that had to deal with this situation (he probably told us more than he should have) and the guy was let go. Which is kind of surprising considering how short staffed the regionals are.
I just want to emphasize that my original point is that the process is long but if you make it through phase II your background check is done. You don't have to worry about something weird popping up or going wrong (through no fault of your own) with your background that you have to deal with while you're in class. All you have to do when you get here is pass training. And remember 100 different passwords for all the different JetBlue websites.
Good luck to all that had their interviews!

I don't know what can and cannot be released with PRIA (you can look it up on the web). But who's to say if a previous employer is allowed to reach out to HR to let them know what they might be getting into. Like how we post the names of the guys/gals in phase II and encourage us to speak up if we feel someone may or may not fit into our culture.

Thanks, that's good to hear. I have invested a few years in trying to secure this opportunity, and I don't want to do anything that would compromise my chances.

First applied Apr 2014
Applied at every open window since then
Phone screen 8/18
Interview 9/7
Moved to Phase II 9/8
Total time: 5700 hrs
Turbine: 5100 hrs
Turbine PIC: zero
It's interesting to hear that they post the names for current jB pilots to mark off. Any idea of what percentage of guys that catches out?
What else are they doing during phase II? The email said something about "interested stake-holders reviewing your file," is that code for the jB line pilot veto thing or is that something else? The background check email said it was a CJO! There's lots of conflicting information from these emails they send us.

Just was at a recruitment event for JB , they specifically told people that they are changing the time frame from one gets called to a class date .
I think they realized the long drawn out process wasn't working for them . They were loosing good people who had been waiting for months , who actually wanted to come here but got called from XYZ first .
And I suspect it will only get worse and hiring picks up over the next 10 years.
Good luck to those interviewing and waiting for a process I know it's tough .
