our union is spineless a lot of the time. Profit sharing cost the company zero right now. They should have fought (I would be considered close to the furlough line)

I’m sure I fall into those “thousands” I don’t think asking for something that cost them nothing makes them say ok furlough everyone. Also question do you believe in anything everyone says? Salesmen probably have a field day with you.

I remember being blown away the first time I found out pilots negotiated their own contracts, as in line pilots that were sent to “negotiating 101”. How we don’t have full blown professional negotiators working on our behalf with pilots being read in and available for suggestion/direction blows my mind. It’s like sending a kid out of college who has never played tennis before to tennis camp for a Summer, then send him up against a ****ed off John McEnroe but with a former pro as a coach to guide him.

oh I agree with you. I was just saying “thousands” it’s quite the number for a company with like what 4K pilots?
I just don’t buy it. Now If they said 300 well I would buy that.

I apologize. My general sentiment is the same regarding many in our group.

Its not as bad as you think. There’s normally several professional negotiators in the room for guidance. Your pilot negotiators meet with them for days in advance to formulate a strategy. Usually attorneys and you had one that went to Yale law school and has argued in front of the Supreme Court. Not sure if he’s still there or not?
