How come the new bid doesn't have any of the other fleet on it? 75/76? 77/787? I was under the impression we'd be able to bid for that stuff for September considering the 15th is right around the corner.

JB is a NYC based airline, they understand, just call and say you're stuck in traffic.

I live in NJ, at 1:15 drive without traffic plus 30 mins to get from Long term parking to the terminal. Never had a problem.
(if they want you to get there" as soon as possible" they'll approve short term parking expense but never agree to anything less than 2 hour commute)
I know it's splitting hairs, but " under normal traffic" is not the terminology JB uses, it's "unexpected circumstances".

If you've been assigned a 0700. Your normal driving conditions put you right at 2:00 hours, but it's rush hour, you might have some explaining to do if you continually miss your showtime during rush hour.

mAAybe we can shift to the way AA does things for reserve. I think their terminology is "good faith effort". In my mind that includes a stop at Dunkin, eat my breakfast, and greet Mint customers in the lounge

Disagree with the fact that you need to do explaining if you're past two hours. If this was the case each person on rsv would pretty much need to live with 30 minutes of Boston or JFK. Because any further than that during 6-9am, and 3-5pm, you'd never make a show time with in two hours. Never have I had to explain anything to anyone for getting there later than two hours.

I know you're being sarcastic because we would never create a Mint lounge! Everyone's equal at JetBlue!

Mediation dates set.

The negotiating committee will meet with the NMB in Washington, D.C. on August 10th to discuss the status of our negotiations.

The mediator, Jim Mackenzie, scheduled the following initial dates for negotiations (locations TBD):

  • August 21st - 25th
  • September 25th - 29th
  • October 30th - November 3rd
  • January 8th -12th (2018)

We are pleased that negotiations are set to resume after a short period of time. Depending upon the availability of the Mr. Mackenzie, we will work with the NMB to secure additional dates before the end of the year.

In unity.

Surprised how quick we got those dates set. Hopefully some progress is made during those meetings.

Help me remember- under the 8% raise we negated any form of profit sharing correct? Or was an increased 401K contribution included? It's all hazy now... I blame ATC.

The profit sharing model was going to change either way, we only voted on the 8% raise.

The new profit sharing model shares 15% of pre-tax profits to a dual trigger model:

If JetBlue’s pre-tax margin is 18% or lower, we share in 10% of pre-tax profit.

If JetBlue’s pre-tax margin is higher than 18%, we share in 10% of pre-tax profit up to an 18% pre-tax margin

PLUS

20% of any pre-tax profit above an 18% pre-tax margin

Somehow I see the company reporting 17.9%

To put that into perspective for some of us, what was last years profit sharing percentage that we received?
