No plans to accelerate the permanent parking of the 190s. At least that’s what I’ve heard.

That's true of what they've said publicly. But they may have changed that plan and haven't announced it yet. Or with the gates available in LAX, EWR and JFK (slots), maybe they accelerate A220 deliveries and keep some E190s longer. I guess we'll all know when we know.

Or they are replacing Popcorners with Blue Tortilla chips.

yes, more of an explanation, please. obviously, I know what you mean, but there might be others who don't.

(narrator: he does not know what you mean)

I’d bet one day the 220 will have a west coast base. I just think LAX base, even at 70 flights a day if it gets there in 2025, will still be too small to justify 2 crew bases there.
Well Mr. SL said today that there are future plans for A220s in LAX, but of course where the 190s are currently based will take priority. He threw out some places like LAX-JAX, LAX-PBI, LAX-CHS (iirc) etc. Date mentioned was around 2023. Hawaii seems bright in the future too. We'll see.

Makes complete sense. A220s should be used on highly competitive routes (LAX-SEA, LAX-SFO, etc.) because of their very low CASM and ergonomic advantage over the generic 737s and A320s currently flown on those routes. And also flown on longer, thinner routes with very little/no competition because their break even load factor will be relatively low. I love the idea of LAX-CHS and LAX-PBI - perfect types of routes for the A220.

I’d also like to see LAX-HPN and BUR/SNA/ONT to MCO, FLL, JFK/EWR & BOS on the A220 while your at it. BUR to MCO would be popular with Disney.
