management proposed Alaska rates minus 1%. let that sink in. alaska pilots would have turned down their current rates if they had been given the chance to vote on it, but it was an arbitrator decision so they had to eat that.

furthermore , the concept of pattern bargaining is that you build up on each other cba, meaning , our Alpa proposed rates are not only above current Delta or United, but includes what we assume will be their 2020 and beyond future rates since they start negotiations in a year.

to add insult to the company proposal ,they wanted to have zero work rules to offset that pathetic rate offer, and no profit sharing with zero improvement to our current heath care plans that's worse than walmarts'.

don't forget too that those rates were for a320-321 only, the 190 was offered zero .

we can only hope we reach and impass with NMB release soon so we can shut down this experiment and see the worthless JB management team be fired .
I hope the last few "happy to be here" types finally see this company's true colors.

And to be clear. The offer was CURRENT Alaska rates....not even the arbitration rates.

To those that say “it’s just business” imagine you are selling you’re Toyota.....asking $10,000. Some guy calls and meets you on a Saturday. Spends half the afternoon test driving your car.....has it checked by his mechanic.

Offers you $2000. You scoff. You counter with $9500. He offers $2020

“Get the hell off my property you say.....quit wasting my time”.

He says “it’s just business”

Current rate is about $251/hour. 1% less is about $248/hour. AS goes to about $258/hour in just over 60 days, while we would just be ratifying by that date IF we had a TA today. So, their proposed rate is actually about 4% less than AS rates, not to mention all the work rule concessions and such.

Don't believe any of the company propaganda & spin. FAKE NEWS!

Is there anything a pilot flying tomorrow can do to help support the picket? I'm passing through JFK with a very short break between legs.

Fly SOP. Focus on putting safety at the forefront of every decision you make. Write up issues regardless of how minor they may seem. Don't be afraid to call a safety time out if you see something unsafe happening or developing around you.

The above items have been said by the MEC, the chief pilot, and even CEO (safety time out).

Take care of yourself and your crew first, we are sometimes the only allies we have. That in turn will take care of our customers.

Much appreciated.

But, the MEC has made it clear that this is a JB only pilot event.

Thank you for the support!

Gup

PS: Maybe I misunderstood that you are flying with another carrier. If you are JB, contact your LEC. Picketing is at headquarters and it's not easy getting to/from JFK from there.
