I met him once. He had a lanyard on at the time. And he wasn’t even in uniform.

Southerner just likes cleaning airplanes and getting paid less than his peers. Hyperboy usually rows in the pilots’ direction (actually he is literally super hyper and rows in a lot of directions at once), and I’d rather have him in a quasi-management position than a southerner. He’s not the enemy.
This is an accurate perspective. HB is a true optimist but cares greatly for his fellow pilots.
Southerner is not so much an enemy, but a collaborator- he does pay dues, but seems to hate the union concept. I think he is a product of working in close proximity with management during his time in OSC.
Because he is happy, he believes that those of us who are critical of B6, are blindly miserable. This, of course, is not true.
If I misdiagnosed your position Southerner, please correct me.
I think Ive been fair.

I don't hate the union concept. I think it's a necessary thing in our industry. I dislike the negativity and the taking of things so personally. But, at the end of the day I understand it, even if I disagree.

So any critique of B6 is a reaction based solely on emotion? Or could it just be numerical or empirical, if you prefer?
Some reactions might be E/I, but the major complaint is about company dishonesty and greed. Retort?

It's personal for a lot of jetblue pilots because jetblue managers and the executive team has made personal examples of many of our pilots including firings, falsifying employment files, and refusing to follow established law until forced to under court order. This is the truly the most dishonest, deceitful, and disgusting group of people I've ever worked for. I didn't cry for maruster when he had a stroke and I won't cry for any of the others when karma eventually strikes them.

jetblue made it personal...that's why.

FUPM...that's all I have to say.

This company is delaying a contract intentionally that would compensate me and my family with an additional roughly $3-4,000 per month in pay, benefits and retirement contribution. That's personal.

This company is also delaying a contract intentionally that would increase my time off-duty with my family via a calendar day rig. That's personal.

The terrible QOL of life for our reserves is also quite personal! It has kept me from exercising my seniority to upgrade to captain. That's personal.

You can passively sit on your thumb with a nooky In your mouth all you want, I will not. I know you don't actually believe that 3500 quiet and passive pilots will ever achieve a market rate contract, so I have to wonder what your agenda really is....

When a company lies to its employees about the coverage of their Health and Welfare Plans and employee don't take it personal then they are themselves cult members.

Cult is the best way to describe this airline, and Southerner.

Naive and honest question... why is this not on the forefront of the ALPA informational campaign? If it's fact, can't the truth be told? Shouldn't picket signs say "Liars, Deceivers, Thieves" or something more accurate and effective than the current slogans?
