I have a lot of sympathy for you guys there and it's a sad/weird time in the industry where regional contracts are comparable (possibly even better) than what you're dealing with.
Now go make sure the company guys do the humanely passionate thing and clean up the mess you made.

They should have canceled a flight, put it on a 190 if they had to, to make it on time when they knew that the local press was involved. . . . I know this was a cheesy gimmick (see what I did there?) but this press from the local station just took away any possible gains that the gimmick might have brought.
