The schedule gets amended every 2-3 years so we'll see if the big growth happens in the early 2020's or not.
Openly talking about Europe sounds cool and everything, but it does scare me a bit. Hopefully the negotiations will include trip rigs/per diem adjustments and true international pay to reflect these possibilities.
Also the 321 is quickly becoming a major part of our fleet. The 321 is a 757 sized AC. Our pay rates need to reflect this either based on a blended rate that adjusts with the AC ratio or an override.
That said I prefer this news over a merger announcement with frontier/spirit/Hawaiian/Alaska any day!

Realizing that
2020 10
2021 7
2022 7
deliveries are E190s which we'll never see.
Having said that, don't be surprised if we hear about more merger/acquisition news before the year is up. This is not just flight deck gossip. JB is in fact doing due diligence on several airlines right now.
Will anything come of it? Who knows. Does JB want to increase its west coast operations exponentially--a feat that these spread out delivery increases won't accomplish? I think we all know the answer to that question.

None of the above. That I'm aware of. I've never been told information from anyone who said something then told me to keep it to myself. Or that it was confidential information.
If someone would confide in me information and then told me not to say anything, you'd never read it here.

I agree about the pay rates, rigs, per diem, etc. all needs to be improved, especially if we start doing more international stuff.
Curious to see what kind of growth we will see in LGB. I also believe the Bay area base rumor will probably come true now, especially with more Mint expansion. Who wants to bet we will start flying LGB-SJC?

lol on the negativity.... cmon, enjoy this good news... and enjoy the fact they want to grow this company, but they also want to grow it smartly and carefully. That being said, I don't think anyone is wearing rose colored sunglasses as it relates to this industry.... anything can change, and relatively fast (for better or for worse).
However, in the mean time, there is no reason to not enjoy good news and have a semi-positive attitude. And frankly, it makes life easier
