Said by someone who probably has never worked anywhere that had proper crew meals. You probably live in base and fly turns as well.

Meals are simple. If you need to eat go get something. Yes I would like to see it specified in the CBA but not at the cost of more important items. I expect a quality CBA, not a perfect one.

I have gone for food on a few occasions and a CP has never me called about it.

The point is on day three and my cooler healthy food is now gone I've found that the less than gourmet crew meals are still better healthwise than the rubbish sold in the terminal.

I think every aspect of QOL has to be addressed to be on par with the legacy carriers, not sacrifice something at the cost of something else. Sure it seems like a little issue, but why not have a CBA that looks like it belongs at a major, not a regional.

1. Status Quo is mostly a myth when it comes to the first CBA (no current one in place), ask Allegiant.

2. By giving us a raise in pay, they can claim it is a company wide change/improvement in compensation. Every group got different raises....my guess is 8 percent is equal to at least one other work group. They can now claim they did not retaliate against the unionized pilots, because everyone's PS formula changed, and everyone got a raise to compensate for the change.

You're both right. The company should recognize we have nutritional needs prior to operating an aircraft, and that doesn't mean inhaling junk food from the terminal on a quick turn.

The NC shouldn't have to spend negotiating capital to secure crew meals or breaks. These are just facts of life, and if management chooses not to recognize that then they'll have some serious D-0 problems. So long as pilots also recognize that they require proper nutrition and don't sacrifice themselves for the sake of D-0. Then again these are JetBlue pilots we're talking about...

I wasn't bashing the pilot group. I was trying to point out that currently JetBlue does underpay their flight crews by such a large % that arguing over pennies when you are owed dollars is short sighted. I get the blue juicers getting defensive but there is a huge disconnect between the industry and what JetBlue currently pays. I wasn't trying to take a jab and I never brought up where I went. I am sorry if some people took it the wrong way.

I want you guys to get paid a fair wage. You fly large aircraft and will have an ever growing presence globally. The fact that you have people incorrectly saying that this is "an 8% raise" and that they need a "25% CBA" in the future just shows that many don't understand how severely they are currently being underpaid. You need to be a united front against management. The first few pay rates alone, are 50% below the legacies when you consider training pay. Benefits only increase the disparity. We only have x number of years to fly planes and every year we make less is exponentially fewer dollars at retirement.

I think you guys deserve much more as a pilot group and are losing sight of the big picture which coincidentally is managements plan. That's all I meant.
