We do however have good numbers of people leaving to places with good retirement numbers and better pay, and that number is going to climb.

Once guys hit the 3 year mark they are pretty much set.

We do have some leaving after that point(even captains with 7-10 years in) but once they hit year 3 they become much more likely to stay.

The company has been using where you live as a huge determinant to evaluate your flight risk as well.

Would depend on starting salary I presume. Once you're over 6 figures here the psychology favors staying because of the step back to go forward. Mathematically it makes better sense to leave, but in most cases people don't behave according to math or economics. Have a buddy at UPS that keeps directing me that way and I'm like the starting salary is what ? 50K. Yeah but the second year is... 170ish? But that first year!

True but people, especially with family can only start over so many times. You will only know if you made the right decisions in your career when you retire and look back.

Agreed to a certain point. Obviously everyones situation is different. Age, family, where you live, seniority, etc all play a factor. I'm able and giving myself a couple more years before JetBlue will put on the golden handcuffs and keeps me here, but I'm keeping my options open for now.

I think if you live in a JB base, you can have a very nice career, especially if you've been here for quite some time. I am worried about what will happen if we stop taking new airplanes and stop growing, things will start to stagnate. And I'm not going to lie, I am worried about this pilot group and its unity.

All the legacies have to do is boost first year pay and the flood gates will open. Still a few years away from that point.

Regardless of what some of the nay Sayers want you to believe, I think our pilot group is strong. We had the largest yes vote in ALPA history and engagement numbers are very high. All the data pints to fact that our group is not willing to settle for sub par. There are outliers in both groups of juicers and ALPA alike, but the vast majority fall to the grey middle of sanity.

When we get out TA it will speak volumes one way or another.

Fly safe, fly SOP.

Looks like we now have a "retro" A320 that came in from GUS.

.@JetBlue is joining the retro livery club. The aircraft will debut upon relaunch of PSP seasonal service on Friday.
