That's not how this works. If you think the arbitration officer(s) are going to look at this 8% and consider it an act of good faith and allow further delays, then you don't understand how the process works.
We are so far behind our peers in all areas, including pay even with this raise, it's ridiculous. And the mediation team is/will be well aware of this fact.
I'll enjoy my $1000+/month extra and look forward to a leading TA/CBA.

This makes no sense.
What was the alternative, Bubs? Voting no, patting yourself on the back and taking a 13% pay cut? How does that help the pilots as a group, or you, as an individual?
The union has stated that under no uncertain terms, that voting for this LOA will have ZERO affect in either the timeline for an ultimate TA or a lessening of what we ultimately will vote on.
Stop being so melodramatic. This was an opportunity to get a small increase in pay for 2017 and a few extra vacation days. That's it. What our NC negotiates for remains unchanged. If the company chooses to falsely believe that this vote referendum can somehow be interpreted as weakness or division...well....they're sorely mistaken.

So, I said "Nope! Jblue and the DR will be the same company when it comes time to negotiate a PEA just the same as ALPA will do it."
Now we're in the trenches negotiating a CBA with grievances being filed in both directions and the company does what it always does. Dangles a slight carrot. But I KNEW! ALPA and the MEC would see through the ruse. We can't accept anything until it's all hashed out in the CBA. Stick to our guns. Just like was promised in the ALPA vote. We need this! And I was totally misled. Now by ALPA.
That's the point. Take nothing till we get it all. You don't think this will come up again? You don't think this will influence what % raise is offered going forward? You don't think that JetBlue ELT is already 3 steps ahead of the MEC now that they know they have the power of the union voting group? Stuck your head back in the ALPA Kool-Aid and drink deeply. I'd rather still be drinking the Jblue juice.

No drama here. I stood by and watched all the "Union Sayers" tell me time and time again "Enough is enough!" "We need ALPA!!!"

I'll take the 8% raise and allow the NC to continue to negotiate, our strike and preparedness committee to formalize a plan for information warfare when that becomes necessary..etc....etc....
You're welcome for the raise. Glad you can hold your head high in your defiance. No matter how misplaced it may be.

Let's say for the sake of argument we're going to end up with 30%. What's the difference whether we get 8 now and 22 later or all 30 at once? My ability to invest and garner a return on that 8% now that's what. Am I missing something here? What's wrong with an appetizer before hitting the buffet? Either way we're full. But my hunger pangs disappear earlier with that appetizer.
