It’s just leveling the field so everyone, lineholders and reserves, get paid the same 70 hours.

There is less flying for everyone right now and this codeshare will hopefully bring more flying for both of us.

Maybe buying time for the pilot group is what we all need to do. My fear is taking concessions thinking it will actually do something when history has taught us the exact opposite. I have good friends at JB and hope we’ll all come out of the back end of all this.

How so?

my figures:
I ran the numbers to assume a 5 hour give for every pilot (not just RSV).
4,000 pilots at jb
2,000 each CA/FO
2,000(5hours) =
10,000 pay hours per seat

I ran the numbers at the top of the pay scale of each seat.
CA 10,000($269) = 2.69m
FO 10,000(($180) = 1.8m
4.49m/month

if it really only affects 20% of the pilot group it only comes out to a $898,000 savings.

Default System bid predictions

This back and forth between AA and JetBlue ain’t helping anyone, so I thought I’d at least try and change the subject.

Any predictions for what should be a crazy System Bid?
Massive displacements systemwide or just LGB?
A big shift from the 190 to Bus?
I heard about 100 vacancies on the A220, does that go senior or junior?
Will there be vacancies for the LR flying or will that come later?

Or we can keep trying to find that link between AA warn letters and JetBlue LOA 12.

If the “LR/Europe” flying isn’t on the system bid, then they are probably not serious about Europe... and yes, I know they can run supplemental bids, but that’s the way I see it.

I agree. Although how long does it take to take an already typed A320 guy and get him trained on ETOPS? Might be something you can wait on, I have no idea.

i think the difference is that this time it wasn’t a concession hoping to avoid furloughs. It was a negotiation with reduced reserve days, a specific end date, and a no-furlough clause. That clause WILL prevent furloughs, at least through April.

It’ll be interesting to see who sits reserve and therefore has the 5 hour reduction. If it’s senior guys hoping to not fly, it’s by choice. If it’s junior guys stuck with it, they’re probably the guys who would’ve been furloughed otherwise. Seems mostly win-win.

BTW, I thought the meme was funny.
