If the union had done nothing (stayed strong) and the company furloughed 15% of the pilots, would that have been a concession? I’m sure it would’ve seemed like it to those furloughed. Even a reduced ALV or credit caps sound like concessions to specific pilots who are affected.
This just seems like a short term compromise to me.

How will the Europe SQ work? If people bid it and are trained but there’s not many flights, wouldn’t they just get assigned the normal domestic flying anyway? Why delay the bid and cause potential for more movement later instead of just doing it all at once?

If you are an SQ RSV pilot then yes you can be pulled at any time for a domestic trip. For SQ line holders all SQ pairings must contain at least 1 leg touching an SQ airport. I don't believe that as a SQ line holder you would see a month where you fly a mix of domestic and SQ trips. So we will need to have some certainty for flights before we can bid the class (not to mention actual ETOPS certification, planes, etc). Maybe someone can clarify if I am reading the section wrong.

Can someone define “concession” for me? Serious question. The pilot group gave up 5 hours of guarantee for reserves in exchange for 2 extra days off for reserves and a guarantee of no furloughs. Is that really a concession or just negotiation or quid pro quo?

Since you present yourself as an educated person on this matter, you do realize there was no "scope change" right? Section 1 was not modified. There was a one-time exception to the codeshare provisions to allow the AA codeshare, which will help preserve jobs. JB scope is so restrictive (I can understand if you can't relate) that in this particular circumstance an exception will serve to preserve jobs instead of farm them out to the lowest bidder or underpaid foreign pilots. But I'm sure you knew that.

No, I didn’t know. That’s great to hear. What are the details of the codeshare?

The details have been described in recent press reports. If you are asking what the scope restrictions are, they can be found in Section 1.F of the JB CBA. JB block hours must increase in order for the codeshare to be renewed, amended or maintained.

1. A codeshare agreement for NYC and BOS service
JetBlue and American plan to place their codes on each other’s flights in NYC and BOS (except JetBlue’s future transatlantic service). Together, we’ll operate 489 daily flights and serve 120 destinations from the greater NYC area, with plans to expand JetBlue flying.
2. An engine of growth and a chance for us to become even stronger in NYC and BOS
We’ve run out of room to grow and compete in NYC, so this agreement opens up new avenues. We expect to grow JetBlue flights at LGA, JFK and EWR.
3. A boost to our coronavirus recovery
Because this agreement will deliver more Customers to JetBlue, we expect to get more planes flying and more Crewmembers back to work sooner. In fact, this will help us bring back the equivalent of 40 more aircraft than we planned.
4. More choice and benefits for Customers
Customers will have more routes, improved schedules, frequent flyer benefits (stay tuned for details), and more options when travel plans are disrupted. JetBlue Customers will have access to 60 new non-stop routes and a gateway to AA’s global destinations.
5. A more seamless traveling experience for Customers
From booking a single itinerary on either airline’s website, to single check-in to more convenient connections, traveling will be smoother and more connected.
