Of course 6 is fine too and drives them to build a more productive trip. Buyer beware though, a 24 hr productive 4 day is likely to include at least 20 hrs block. I’m rather fond of not blocking a 1000 a year.
The problem can be addressed (solved is debatable) by either having a min daily rig, or an improved TAFB rig. An improved TAFB rig makes a trip the reports very early and duties off very late pay more than a trip that reports later and duties off earlier. It's a financial incentive to not have us lose every full day of our trips.

Just making a min day more than anything incentivizes adding a turn to the first and last day, and short layover SWA style trips. No thanks.

TAFB rigs would at least compensate based on time away from home, which is pretty important to all of us locals and commuters alike. The company can still have low productivity 4day trips, but they would have to start late in the day and/or finish early on Day 4.
Exactly. Want to make trips like long with early reports and late releases? Gonna cost you more. Big score for an improved TAFB rig.

Simply adding a min day will financially incentivize the company to add a turn to the first and last day, and build short layover ball-busting SWA style trips. No thanks.

We need to see around corners and anticipate what the company will do with rule changes and how they will come back to bite us.

Listen to Bluedriver. Whatever fancy “get-rich on credit” scheme we can come up with… a month later the company will figure out a way to abuse it. Then we’ll all be griping about the non-commutable 5-day early report crap redeye trips.

I do see your point and wouldn’t mind you TAFB idea.

The great thing about a 3/1 TAFB rig is it pushes up credit and shortens trip lengths on the first and last day. For the trips the company wants/needs to build with early reports and late releases, we get paid even more.

The credit lost from the ****ty 4-day pairings going away would result in 2 or 3 (or more) days off per month

Stolen from Reddit /flying RE airline cultures

Alaska: PNW hippies on shrooms, they think the fire handles are glowing

Spirit: Chillest pilots in the US, barely work and are happy they are on the right side of the cockpit door.

JetBlue: Also pretty chill, not hitting happy hour with an hour left is a fireable offense

Envoy/Endeavor: Think they are mainline, act like it

Republic: Mixed bag, some tools, taxi super slow and make bonehead mistakes, every Yx I’ve met in real life has been super chill though

PSA: They either love their job or hate it, good dudes though (CRJ GANG)

Piedmont: ???

Skywest: Bike seat to right seat

GoJet: Bunch of good people in a mediocre company, some weirdo captains

CommuteAir: Don’t hear much about them, they looked pretty sad

Mesa: Jumpseating to their court appearance
If this B6 description is accurate then let's get this merger started already

😂 I do believe it is buried in the FOM that attendance is required.
