There's a difference between being based in Florida... or being based in Florida but still flying Boston/JFK trips that require DH's on the front and tail end. They only moved the bases, not the flying. Why be junior in Florida and get paid to commute to terrible Northeast trips when you can commute like you've already been doing to be more senior doing said terrible Northeast trips?

I’d rather drive to work and get paid to deadhead all over the place than deal with what commuting has become post-covid.

Lots of ways to create pairings. When I was JFK based I would fly mostly 4 day trips that only touched JFK on the 1st and last leg, in fact that was typical before “in base layovers”. You are thinking a little too 1 dimensional if you think more than a handful of trips would start or end with a DH to/frm JFK/BOS!

At JetBlue, these two lines mean the same exact thing. Right up until there’s the mystery of an annual bid.

huh?? So I'm going to be more senior with the same terrible N.E trips? Lol. I would rather get paid to commute (DH).

You're thinking too simplistically. They didn't move the flying, but there was already a ton of NE to Florida flying. So instead of starting your trip in JFK and flying to FLL, You start your day and fly to JFK. That NE to Florida trip can be staffed by someone originating from either base, depending on how it was planned to be staffed.

#1 Since I'm at NK and do mostly 17 hr ~ish 3 day trips or 24 hr ~ish 4 days, I'm greatly worried about your trip building at B6 (if I'm feeling lazy I'll bid 5 block 10 credit 2 days or similar)
#2 If you'd rather travel to work for free rather than being paid, I hope you are nowhere near the negotiating committee, at all.
