Letter of rec from a k4 pilot and a job fair.

I reached out on FB to see if any of my friends knew any of the 359 give or take K4 pilots but no luck. I also looked at K4 website for the next job fair but the cal is empty. There is a job fair pretty close to me coming up but no carriers are confirmed yet.

I applied today because I know nothing is going to happen just sitting around. I need to just keep my eyes open to see if I can find a job fair that they are attending.

The ACP told me the only two career fairs they may go to are WIA and OBAP. Those are not for sure either.

Trying to help a buddy get hired here myself.

Most of the straight 135 types are having difficulty in training. This is a big boy program with tons of self study. Not personal but if you are used to customer type training it’s a rude awakening.

Thumbs up Teamwork

With a wide-body 121 experienced sim partner and a good class that sticks together and studies every day (from day 1) to make sure no one is left behind, most anyone with the minimum hours and the desire to succeed will make it though...but that is what it takes.

Not all classes are created equal. Self study is great, but knowing how to self study for a course like the one Kalitta offers is the key that a solid class can provide. I say apply and show your enthusiasm. Attend the job fair if you can but don't wait to apply.

Update your resume once a month by sending it to HR with new numbers and the things you're doing to consistently improve yourself. Continue to network and make friends. Where there is a will, there is a way!

A good friend of mine just got out of training he told me that if you show interest and eager to learn and pass they would help you get through

I definitely agree that all classes are created equal. I consider myself pretty good at studying and I also have an A&P and IA not that it is relevant but it makes studying the airplane way easier.

I was thinking I might have to start posting adds on Craigslist that I will mow yards and shovel sidewalks for K4 pilots in exchange for a rec. Your suggestions sounds better and that is the plan right now. Would you load your other letters of rec on the ADP system?

Not everyone is that fortunate to be paired with an experienced new hire.

My post was not to discourage anyone but to explain the reality. Yes if you have the right attitude, but you need the aptitude to make it.

Upgrade is quick here and it’s a huge reality check. 2018 is going to be interesting.

K4 is not an entry level job. If you need your hand held at other 121 training programs, this will be a challenge.

I know exactly what you are talking about. My last type ride was with a French guy that spoke very very limited English and was way out of his league. They would have sent him home but he was a Dassault hire. Having a good sim and school partners make a huge difference.
