You guys do understand that the "more vulnerable" includes the nurses and doctors in the hospitals, right?

The best man at my son's wedding is an OB-GYN in Manhattan. Monday morning is an ER Doc because that is where they are.

List that factoid among the things that won't see on Fox News tomorrow.

Same situation in South Florida. All beaches, parks, boat ramps, and non essential businesses are closed with the blame going mostly to spring breakers and millennials, which isn't really entirely accurate. Head up north to the space coast which consists nearly entirely of families and a massive 65+ population (God's waiting room) and most of those beaches are still open last I checked. Makes absolutely no sense at all.

How do you lock the vulnerable inside for weeks? Who is going to operate the old folks homes? How will my mom get her groceries if the grocery store is full of non-vulnerable people who are carriers? Doctors and nurses still have to go to work. What if they become vectors to the vulnerable? That's cool that you only have mild symptoms, but I just found out a friend of a friend died in their late 30s from COVID-19. He had no pre-existing conditions. How do you think the economy responds when everyone ends up knowing someone who dies from it? The idea that we can return to normal anytime soon is delusional.

I'd like to come back to this thread in a month when hundreds of thousands are dead in America, and ask all the "get back to work" crowd if they thought it was worth it.

They will say, "They would have died anyway, but at least we saved the economy"

The economy would be in the crapper from all of the disruption and loss of life.

So we get the worst of both worlds. Lots of death and a ruined economy. Well done, gents.

Scenario 1: “Reopen” the economy, virus runs rampant, hospitals are overrun, potential death toll 1-2 million, economy in the sh$tter.

Scenario 2: Social distance, listen to the experts, hospital capacity reduced, potential death toll in the low hundred thousands, economy in the sh$tter.

Unfortunately due to the pathetically delayed response and lack of leadership on a federal level those are our two choices. The virus and the economy are inextricably tied at this point.

We can literally end this if everyone stops what they’re doing and stays home for 2 weeks. It’s frustrating how half heartedly we are treating this. What is the point of prolonging it, bring out the military and just shut it down.

WE could literally stop this if the media would end the hysteria. If people were dying by the millions, this would be an issue? How many US deaths so far? And yes, Italy had a lot, but those were people average of 71 with multiple issues. God help us if we just have to deal with the flu next year.

Just you wait Stan. It's going to get dicey in the next couple of weeks. Thousands dying daily in the US. Is that enough for some hysterics, in your opinion?
