Who cares what you ‘consider days off’ lol. If you’re on call, you need to be contactable by your job and ready to come into work. That’s not a day off. That’s not even that enjoyable knowing your phone can ring at any second. Looking back in hindsight at your ‘days off’ doesn’t change this fact either. Give it a rest.

We aren't talking about contractual days off. But if I had to turn a wheel 5 times this fall, I have no problem saying I really didn't have to work the other 85 days.

By that definition, I guess a FedEx guy on a 72hr layover in Paris who flies his wife over to stay in the company hotel, and can LITERALLY leave his phone in the hotel room for 72hrs and suffer no repercussions.
he isnt actually working, but can consider that part of “paid vacation and 3 days off.”
or the guy with a 36hr layover in SLC, leaves his phone in room and goes skiing. “Day off”
I need to change my number of days “off”….

Eating breakfast at home. Watching tv . Playing with the dog. Hanging out with family. Going to gym. Going out to dinner. Skipping town cause you got a 12 hour call out. Sleeping in your own bed. Not days off eh? Ill take notes while i credit 150 a month and report 10 days for work.
If I'm a lineholder and have to put on a uniform for 15 days to credit 75 hours and I have to put on a uniform 2 days to credit the same amount but only have 13 contractual days off, I worked way harder as a lineholder with (technically) 2 less "days off."

This. Just because I'm not free to travel the world doesn't mean I'm working..I'm generally able to do whatever I want..

Keep things comparable, otherwise this just goes into absurdium. I'll give an example:
Atlas FO, I have 21 days off this month and I credit 114 hours.

understood. Res is negotiated language. Some is better than others. What might be good for you definitely isn’t for others. It’s tough making blanket statements. We definitely don’t want management to start considering it as a day off. There’s also 117 implications for long call that could potentially effect everyone’s long call contractual language.
