Are you having a stroke? That’s literally what the news of the day is. It has passed the house.

As expected, the House approved the age 67 amendment 32-31. All Dems voted no. On the R side, Molinaro voted No, D’Esposito and Stauber took a strategic bathroom break.

It passed a House committee..... Not the full house.

It will likely survive the full house vote, but it's important to keep things accurate to what happened.

JackStraw, you need to go back to your HS civics teacher and get your tax money back. You would think a 32-31 vote (63 total) would have clued you in to the fact that it was just a House Committee, as the US House of Reps has 435 members. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I realize it was just the house committee but keeping it out of the bill was what our entire fight was all about. It’s in the House bill now so it is essentially over.

Ether they need to scrap aeromed and just go off birthdate, as medicals apparently don’t work

Or

Say if you can pass a 1st class medical you can exercise your 1st class medical full stop

The FAA makes a joke of themself
The medical needs to start becoming a real medical then. I'm blown away that some people out there can obtain one.

Why? Flight physical isn't that hard.

It’s introduced to the house next month. It may not pass the house. Highly unlikely to pass the senate if it does get through the house.

it may or may not be in the senate version of the bill. Regardless, once each chamber passes their version of the FAA bill, it will go through “reconciliation” to horse trade the differences between the two.

You must be new to aviation

That’s a horrible idea, using the medical to predict the future has always been a bit of a fools errand and the recent study on basic med vs certified medicals (3rd class) was it makes zero difference

FAA aeromed has always been a joke, they don’t practice modern evidence based medicine, don’t listen to real medical experts, and the FAA weaponized the medical a looong time ago.
Smart money would be to transition the whole broken system over to what basic med is and have a real doctor, ideally your primary doc, put his real medical signature that you are fit for flight, not that it medically takes much to fly a plane when you’re just sitting in the FLs
