Yeah, those Delta pilots who aborted in JFK sure weren't seconds away from a mass casualty event. Or those near misses on approach...they didn't need to make quick decisions. Nope. Pilots don't need to make critical decisions in very short periods of time. Might as well be sitting in a office looking at spreadsheets. It's the same mental difficulty.

I noticed that as well and as far as I can see the only reasons for the senate mark up delay has to do with pilot training and flight rules in and out of DCA. Increase to Age 67 isn’t even mentioned as a deal breaker for a thumbs up passage.

I've done similar aborts in the simulator many times, as have all other airline pilots. You are not so subtly implying that pilot checkrides aren't rigid enough. Perhaps you can suggest a way to make them more difficult and try to get the FAA to enact a new system to evaluate pilot skills and ability.
Again, when was the last time you made a real life split second life or death decision in an aircraft where you were at the controls and saved the day?

I specifically asked about YOUR last split second life or death decision. Were you the Captain on the plane that aborted?

I also find it hilarious that I’m held to a higher standard than the president of the United States
Heck a private pilot in a 150 is held to a higher standard than the POTUS lol
It’s all a big joke
I’d say not many voting on this could even get a 3rd class, but with their connections I’d wager they’d get a unrestricted 1st class and a complementary class date with the big three regardless of their age.
10% for the big guys
