My bad. Never heard of that group. After looking at their website, I noticed a couple of United names. One was pretty much a lifelong management guy; the other was a CAL ALPA rep.
SWAPA's not on board with an age change, unlike last time.

3 second take:

Most are happy with an age 67 limit….. but no one wants a real physical or mandatory cognitive testing after age 55 or so.

You'd have to start it at 50 or so, cause I've come across some who at 55 couldn't hold a flame to some 65 yr olds cognitively, and probably never could.

It's kind of like driving, and if anyone here has old enough parents, you get the "fun" opportunity of telling ma/pa that (after your visit and noticing that three corners of their car has scrapes on it), it's probably time to leave the driving to someone else. No one wants to admit/nor can they likely see it, when they haven't retained the cognitive powers of the past.

I’m currently flying with a guy who’s flying with a guy that can’t find his butt with both hands.

I noticed the same. He’s barely touched an airplane at UAL his entire career and now he’s a veritable hero stepping forward to save the world from delays and cancellations. How about locking him up somewhere in the basement at Willis, it would be far safer.

What is the mandatory retirement age for brain surgeons, Canadians and Japanese now? I’d go with that.
